A large-scale event entitled “Modern methods of training specialists in the technical and vocational education system” was held at the Service and Tourism College of Astana within the framework of the Year of Working Professions, the official website of the capital's akimat reported.
More than 200 teachers from the city's colleges participated in the scientific and practical conference organized by the Methodological Center of the Astana Education Department.
The event was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Y. Altynsarin National Academy of Education, the Talap Non-Governmental Organization, the Republican Unified Children and Youth Organization “Zhas Ulan”, the Chamber of Entrepreneurs, public organizations, and deputies of the city maslikhat.
“The participants of the large-scale conference discussed the experience of training workers and the prospects for the development of colleges, the economic development of society and, accordingly, the training of professional personnel; the experience of introducing new trends in digitalization into the educational process. Teachers and students who participated in this event on behalf of our college showed master classes in the specialty of florist. I believe that teachers will exchange experience with each other, and through this, the quality of education for the younger generation will increase,” said Saltanat Basygaraeva, director of the Service and Tourism College of Astana.
The participants of the scientific and practical conference got acquainted with the course of hundreds of events that will be held this year as part of the Year of Working Professions.
At the event, guests saw exhibitions of works “Ideas of Young Designers”, “Secrets of Delicious Bread”, participated in master classes “Discovering the World of Professions”, a pedagogical colloquium “Becoming a Teacher is an Art”, and book-crossings.
“I am a 1st year student in this college majoring in tourism. Here we master a special program, get used to working in agencies, and organize tours. Tuition is free, we have scholarships. We also pay for hot meals. And in the optional classes, we learn to make compositions from various flowers in the floristry circle. We also give "a second life" to unnecessary things, decorating them, beautifying them, and making them into fashionable items. I am glad that I entered this college," said college student Aizhan Duysembekova.
