An operational control center has been opened in Stepnogorsk. The new facility will provide monitoring of public order and traffic using 324 video surveillance cameras.
The introduction of innovative technologies into the daily activities of territorial police departments in the Akmola region continues. The implementation of the principle of "law and order" has become a key task for the regional police department, and a prompt response to minor offenses is a key indicator of the effectiveness of police services.
As part of the "Year of Prevention" announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs, an important and long-awaited event took place in Stepnogorsk for police officers and residents of the mono-city.
In order to ensure law and order and organize round-the-clock monitoring of the operational situation, a modern operational control center began operating in the city on January 31.
The opening ceremony was attended by the head of the police department, Nursultan Mukashev, representatives of local executive bodies, personnel and veterans of internal affairs bodies.
The new facility will provide monitoring of public order and traffic using 324 video surveillance cameras. The center's emergency room employs 26 employees, including operators of the "102" hotline, video surveillance inspectors, instructors, and KKBT inspectors.
The center has 324 video surveillance cameras, including 139 cameras installed on the streets of Stepnogorsk and 9 cameras installed in nearby settlements: the villages of Aksu and Karabulak. In addition, 176 "cloud video surveillance" cameras have been connected to the traffic police system, which provide online monitoring of the entrances and courtyards of apartment buildings. In the future, the center will be connected to video surveillance cameras in secondary schools and colleges in the city. It should be noted that the implementation of digital projects and the use of new technological equipment, especially video surveillance systems, within the framework of fulfilling the instructions of the Head of State and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will allow preventing violations and promptly solving crimes, thereby ensuring the safety of the population. Currently, three full-fledged traffic police stations operate in the region: in the regional center, Kokshetau, as well as in the large cities of Schuchinsk and Stepnogorsk. Last year, more than 270 crimes were solved in the region with the help of traffic police stations, and more than 49 thousand violations were prevented.
