Proposed Export of 60 Types of Kazakhstani Products to Iran

A meeting between the Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Shakkaliev and the Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of Iran, Head of the Trade Development Organization Mohammad Ali Dehghan Dehnavi was held in Almaty. The meeting discussed the issue of increasing mutual trade turnover between the two countries.
"We see an opportunity to increase trade turnover with Iran to $3 billion. We are ready to offer more than 60 commodity items, including grain, sunflower oil, meat products and other goods worth $162 million, for delivery to the Iranian market," Minister Arman Shakkaliev noted. He noted that Kazakhstan is actively implementing the agreements reached by the heads of the two states. Iran is one of Kazakhstan's key partners in the Middle East.
The upcoming trade and economic mission to strengthen trade relations between the two countries, as well as the business forum planned for February 2025 in Tehran, will play an important role. The mission aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the countries, establish direct contacts between Kazakhstani producers and Iranian buyers, and expand Kazakhstan's export potential. In addition, it will contribute to the development of trade and economic partnership, opening up new opportunities for business between the two countries.
According to the results of 11 months of 2024, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Iran amounted to 296 million US dollars, which is 8.1% more than in the same period last year. The volume of exports from Kazakhstan to Iran increased by 29.1% and amounted to 100.6 million US dollars.
The main goods supplied from Kazakhstan to Iran are barley, wheat, rapeseed, sunflower oil, corn, as well as lamb, goat and beef.
