On February 10, 2026, representatives of the State Institution "Department of Employment and Social Programs of the City of Karaganda" participated in a roundtable discussion on "Migrant Service Labor: Monitoring Employment and Working Conditions in the Karaganda and Ulytau Regions."

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan (migration services), the Bureau of National Statistics, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, and representatives of entrepreneurs' associations.

The roundtable was organized by the Kaisar Public Foundation jointly with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) of the United Nations as part of the "Labor Migration Program - Central Asia" project.

The purpose of the event was to present the results of the monitoring of employment and working conditions of migrant workers in the service sector and to discuss practical recommendations for improving labor migration policies and practices.

The roundtable discussed migration policy, migrant labor and employment conditions, improving migrant labor conditions at the legislative and regional levels, and interactions between government agencies, NGOs, and businesses.

Following the event, the participants developed a number of practical recommendations for improving policies and practices regarding employment and working conditions for migrant workers in the service sector.
