On 19 February 2026, a meeting was held between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. B. Atamkulov, and the Authorized Representative under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the Protection of the Rights and Legitimate Interests of Business Entities (Business Ombudsman), A. Buriev.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan noted the steady positive dynamics in the development of the business environment, emphasizing that a favorable and comfortable business climate has been established in Uzbekistan for entrepreneurs. Given the growing number of Kazakhstani companies operating in the Uzbek market, the importance of strengthening cooperation with the Office of the Business Ombudsman in terms of institutional protection of business rights and legitimate interests was highlighted.

Currently, 1,212 enterprises with Kazakhstani capital are operating in the country, implementing projects in geological exploration, finance, construction, industry, trade, and IT. Among them are companies such as BI Group, Qarmet, PTC Holding, Tenge Bank, RG Brands, OpenLab, EcoStandard, and others.

It was underlined that Kazakhstan ranks among the top five countries by the number of operating enterprises with foreign capital in Uzbekistan.

By the end of 2025, bilateral trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan reached USD 4.97 billion, reflecting a high level of trade and economic cooperation.

Buriev informed that the policy implemented by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is aimed at forming stable and transparent conditions for conducting business activities, strengthening guarantees for the protection of business rights, and enhancing the predictability of the regulatory environment.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further developing institutional cooperation and their readiness to coordinate efforts to strengthen a favorable and sustainable business environment in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

The Authorized Representative under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the Protection of the Rights and Legitimate Interests of Business Entities (Business Ombudsman) is a state institution established to protect the rights and legitimate interests of business entities and to prevent unlawful interference by state bodies and officials in entrepreneurial activities.
