On 27 February 2026, representatives of the Kazakhstan Agency of International Development "KazAID" met with experts from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Chief of business and agricultural development at JICA in the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. N. Kentaro and JICA Expert in the Republic of Kazakhstan Ms. U. Makiko participated in the meeting presenting japanese side.

During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas of cooperation within the framework of the implementation of the Roadmap of Cooperation and also considered the possibilities of cooperation in order to increase institutional capacity. Special attention was given to the preparation of a joint seminar in Almaty aimed at sharing experiences and implementing advanced Kazakh and Japanese practices in disaster risk reduction.

The parties confirmed their mutual interest in further developing bilateral cooperation and expanding joint initiatives.
