A 38-year-old resident of Semey evaded paying alimony. As a result, a large-scale debt accumulated, and by a court decision, he was sentenced to one year of restriction of liberty and was assigned one hundred hours of community service each year for the duration of his sentence.

The convict was registered with the probation service of the Zaton district of Semey. During the registration, educational and explanatory work was carried out with him. During the conversation, he said that he has health problems, does not have an identity card and registration at his place of residence, and also needs legal assistance to arrange inherited housing after the death of his parents.

         - After the divorce, I started drinking. At that time, living with your desires seemed more important than family, work, and responsibility. I didn't think about my son or about tomorrow. And when I applied, it was too late: my health deteriorated, my documents were missing, I was left without a job, I was forced to be homeless after the death of my parents. Today I realize that I ruined my life with my own hands. If it hadn't been for the help of the probation staff, I probably would have reached a radical dead end. Now I have the opportunity to fix everything — get a job, pay off my child support debt, and regain the trust of my child and family. I will do my best to make them forgive me," the convict shared.

        - Our main task is not only to control the convicts, but also to provide them with real assistance in social adaptation. In this case, the person found himself in a difficult life situation without documents, housing and work. We helped him recover the lost documents, register and get legal advice. This will allow him to get a job, start paying child support and return to a normal life. Such examples show that probation is not just a punishment, but an opportunity to improve," commented the deputy head of the probation service of the Zaton district, G. The family of Erik Userbaev.

The work of the probation service is aimed at returning convicted citizens to society as law-abiding persons, restoring social ties and fulfilling duties to the family and the state.
