Chisinau, 20 August 2026. Ambassador of Kazakhstan Almat Aidarbekov met with Kazakh specialists from Temirzhol Zhondeu involved in the implementation of a project to reconstruct Moldova’s railway infrastructure.

As part of the project, the Tighina–Basarabeasca–Giurgiulesti railway section, with a total length of approximately 250 km, is being reconstructed. The project is aimed at modernising the country’s railway infrastructure and improving the efficiency of transport connectivity.

During the meeting, the Ambassador was briefed on the progress of the works and discussed with the company’s management and specialists practical issues related to the implementation of the project, as well as the working and living conditions of Kazakh citizens in Moldova.

Particular attention was paid to the Embassy’s engagement with Kazakh citizens residing and working in Moldova. Ambassador Aidarbekov stressed the importance of maintaining regular contact with fellow citizens and reaffirmed the Embassy’s readiness to provide the necessary consular assistance within its competence.

The meeting also addressed the participation of Kazakh citizens in the country’s public and political life. Ahead of the elections of deputies to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held on 23 August 2026, the Ambassador called on Kazakh citizens in Moldova who are eligible to vote to exercise their electoral rights.

Concluding the meeting, Ambassador Aidarbekov expressed his appreciation to the Kazakh specialists for their professional contribution to the implementation of this major infrastructure project and wished them continued success in their work.

The implementation of this project represents a practical example of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Moldova and contributes to the further development of economic ties between the two countries, as well as strengthening the position of Kazakh companies in international infrastructure projects.

More than 300 specialists are currently engaged at the project site, including approximately 20 citizens of Kazakhstan.
