Akim of Turkestan region Nuralkhan Kusherov met with Reza Mahmudian, president of the Sorena Carpet company in the Islamic Republic of Iran. At the meeting with the head of a large company producing carpets and rugs, proposals were made and negotiations were held on strengthening bilateral cooperation, opening a carpet factory. The head of the region noted that favorable conditions have been created for investors in the Turkestan region.
- I would like to note that the development of bilateral cooperation between the Turkestan region and the Islamic Republic of Iran is very important. On the basis of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Iran, there is an opportunity to develop cooperation in the trade, economic, industrial and scientific directions. The project you are proposing is of great importance. Last year, Kazakhstani enterprises produced 5.1 million square meters of carpet products. However, we cannot call it large-scale. Carpets are mainly supplied to the region from Turkey, Russia and China. More than 75% of the country's domestic market needs for carpet products are imported. Therefore, it would be profitable to open a carpet factory in the region. As for the joint agreement, we are ready to provide support, - said Nuralkhan Kusherov.
The Iranian investor presented the potential of the company and outlined its plans. He said that he intends to implement one of his projects in the Turkestan region. Negotiations in this direction will continue.
