Kazakhstan and France explore the Ili-Balkhash Basin. Nurzhan Nurzhigitov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Kazakhstan Silvan Giogh and discussed the directions of bilateral cooperation.
Important: the Ministry is preparing to sign a memorandum of cooperation and a trilateral agreement with the French Development Agency (AFD) and the French Geological and Mining Research Bureau (BRGM). In addition, it is considering the possibility of cooperation with the International Water Bureau (OiEau).

Kazakhstan and Spain are ready to cooperate in the construction of water infrastructure and training of specialists. Nurzhan Nurzhigitov met with representatives of the Spanish Association of Industrial Engineers, which unites more than 1000 construction companies in Spain.
As a result: according to representatives of the Association of industrial engineers, Spanish construction companies intend to work on water management facilities in Kazakhstan. In addition, they expressed their readiness to provide support for professional development of industry specialists.

Kazakhstan and China are negotiating on the distribution of water in transboundary rivers. Nurzhan Nurzhigitov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the people's Republic of China to Kazakhstan Zhang Xiao.
Topical: one of the priorities in the negotiations is the issue of water distribution in transboundary rivers. For this purpose, a special Working Group has been formed, which includes experts from both sides. The main goal is the sustainable water supply of the Ili-Balkhash Basin, the development of Fisheries and tourism.

In honor of the Republic Day, the first meeting of the Public Council of the Ministry of Water Resources and irrigation was held. Since its inception, the public council has given an expert assessment of 13 regulatory legal acts developed by the Ministry of Water Resources and irrigation.

The country's reservoirs are preparing for the flood period. To date, reservoirs in the south are operating in a catchment mode for the next year's irrigation season. Water is supplied from the warehouses of the northern, western and eastern regions. This is done in order to provide free tanks for receiving melt snow water during spring floods.

ZHETYSU REGION
More than 200 km of canals have been cleared in Zhetysu region. In addition, 22 hydraulic structures and 21 hydrometric stations were repaired.

East Kazakhstan region
For the first time in Zaisan District of East Kazakhstan region, a drip irrigation system was introduced on an area of about 500 hectares. In the region, 2.8 thousand hectares of land are irrigated by water-saving systems.
Recall: the Ministry of Water Resources and irrigation, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, increased the amount of subsidies for the installation of water saving systems from 50% to 80%. Thus, by the end of 2030, the ministry intends to cover more than 50% of the total amount of irrigated land in the Republic with water-saving technologies and save up to 2.2 cubic kilometers of water per year.
