The Kazakh side emphasized the SRC’s intention to intensify dialogue with Korean counterparts and to use opportunities to learn from their practices, including approaches aimed at enhancing the transparency and efficiency of tax administration.     The National Tax Service of Korea is recognized as having one of the most advanced approaches in the region to digital tax administration, including the development of e-services, automation of procedures, and the use of analytical tools. Kazakhstan expands cooperation with the ORES Fund for International Development 29.01.2026
The senators have ratified the Framework Agreement on the Organization of operations in the private sector between the Government of Kazakhstan and the International Development Fund of the United Nations. The agreement guarantees long-term financing, investment protection and flexible terms of cooperation.The considered law was developed with the aim of developing cooperation between Kazakhstan and the OPEC Fund for International Development. The agreement will allow financing projects that meet the interests of the country at the expense of the International Fund. In this regard, comprehensive regulation of financing mechanisms is envisaged. Responding to the senators' questions, Vice Minister of National Economy Asan Darbayev said that the OPEC International Development Fund can finance business projects in Kazakhstan. "The fund operates in a foreign currency, usually a dollar or euro. As for interaction, private entities work directly because they have an electronic platform. The platform will become available after the OPEC Fund for International Development receives a notification from Kazakhstan on the ratification of the Agreement.I would also like to note that the OPEC fund has set a maximum ceiling for its liquidity of up to $400 million over five years. A record-breaking package of export and investment documents worth $335.4 million was signed at the Gulfood 2026 international exhibition in Dubai. The agreements were reached during a roundtable discussion organized by the QazTrade trade policy development center and became one of the key practical outcomes of Kazakhstan's participation in the world's largest food industry exhibition.The event was attended by over 35 representatives of Kazakhstani businesses and over 50 foreign companies and organizations from the UAE, the Gulf states, Turkey, China, and other markets. The roundtable brought together producers, traders, distributors, representatives of chain retailers, HoReCa, and investment structures, and was focused on concluding specific commercial agreements.A total of 19 documents were signed or announced, covering the export of grain, highly processed grain products, oil and fat products, confectionery, legumes, and rice, as well as the distribution of Kazakhstani food products in the UAE market. The largest agreements relate to the supply of grain crops. Cooperation agreements for the export of up to 800,000 tons of grain with partners from the UAE and Oman, worth over $240 million, have been established. First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Ashikbayev received Biljana Milosevic, Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Regional Delegation for Central Asia.Biljana Milosevic expressed gratitude for Kazakhstan’s continued support for the ICRC in carrying out its humanitarian mission. She highly commended the country’s efforts in promoting the Global Initiative to Galvanize Political Commitment to International Humanitarian Law, as well as its contribution to protecting the values of humanism, advancing the sustainable development goals, and promoting international peace and security at regional and international platforms.First Deputy Minister Ashikbayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to close cooperation with the ICRC and further support for global efforts aimed at ensuring full respect for international humanitarian law, strengthening collective ethical and legal responsibility.The interlocutors discussed further work within the framework of the Global Initiative to Galvanize Political Commitment to International Humanitarian Law, as well as the preparations for the High-Level Conference on Humanity in War, to be held in Amman, Jordan at the end of 2026.The parties confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening long-term cooperation between Kazakhstan and the ICRC at the global, regional and national levels.The ICRC is an independent non-governmental organization whose primary objective is to provide assistance to victims of war, violence and humanitarian disasters worldwide. The organization has been present in Central Asia since 1992, with its Regional office based in Tashkent.
