The grand opening ceremony of the city's open gymnastics championship was held at the Shymkent Gymnastics School. The large-scale sporting event was attended by Kanat Zharylkapuly Zholdykarayev, Acting Head of the Shymkent City Department of Physical Culture and Sports, who officially announced the start of the competition.
