Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Asylov Berik Nogaevich: Digital protection of children is the first step of "SIM KIDS" 24.04.2025
Child protection is one of our main priorities. The head of state noted that ensuring the safety of children, protecting their rights, creating favorable conditions for their harmonious development is the most important priority of state policy. In this regard, on my instructions, proposals have been developed for the Comprehensive Plan for the Protection of Children from Violence, Suicide Prevention, and Ensuring Their Rights and Well-Being for 2023-2025 to protect minors from the dangerous influence of destructive content on the Internet, which are now in the Government. For our part, we have already started implementing them. Thus, in Almaty, the prosecutor's office, together with the TELE2/ALTEL communications operator, launched a pilot project called "SIM KIDS". This is a special children's SIM card equipped with functions to protect against suicide propaganda, pornography, drugs, online casinos and other Internet threats. With this card, parents will be able to see what applications their child is using, restrict access to dangerous sites, and make calls even if the device is switched to silent mode. The project has attracted great interest from parents. After testing is completed, the children's SIM card will be available to everyone. Work to create a safe environment for children must be proactive. A child must be protected in the digital space from being drawn into dangerous games of a suicidal nature, gambling addiction, as well as from any negative content that can harm the psyche and distort parental guidelines in his upbringing. It is important to remember that a child's safety begins with attention in the family. Adults should be sensitive to changes in the children's mood, their social circle and hobbies.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/kostanai-mendykarin-audany-akimat/press/news/details/979572?lang=kk
