Shymkent's Shabbat: 15 tons of garbage removed 21.07.2025
On July 21, 2025, a large-scale cleanup was held in Shymkent. This event was an important social initiative aimed not only at improving the cleanliness of the city, but also at raising the environmental awareness of residents. During the event, more than 15 tons of household and street waste were collected and delivered to special landfills. This is not just statistical data, but also an indicator of the responsibility of city residents for a common cause. More than 250 city residents and volunteers took part in the Saturday clean-up. Among them were school teachers, students, retirees, and employees of various institutions. A planned cleaning campaign was organized in each district of the city, and 11 special vehicles were deployed. The cleaned areas included courtyards, parks, roadsides, and vacant lots. Such comprehensive work significantly contributed to improving the overall appearance of the city. The main goal of the Sabbath is to increase the responsibility of residents towards the environment. The issue of ecology is closely related not only to the state level, but also to the lifestyle of an individual. In this regard, this Sabbath, held in Shymkent, is an exemplary event that has managed to mobilize the public for the common good. This Saturday, held as part of the "Clean Kazakhstan" environmental campaign, was part of a systematic effort to improve the city's sanitary conditions. According to representatives of the city administration, such events will continue regularly in the future. They called on residents to be active and expressed gratitude to those who contributed to cleanliness. Continuity with previous experience Shymkent has previously held such large-scale cleanups. For example, in September 2023, about 300 volunteers participated in the cleanup as part of the "Green Country" program, and more than 18 tons of garbage were removed. Even then, city residents showed their activeness and contributed to improving the ecological situation of the city. The Saturday as part of the gardening season in the spring of 2024 was also memorable. Not only was garbage collected, but tree planting was also carried out. More than 5 thousand seedlings were planted. Such comprehensive measures will contribute to the systematic improvement of the city's ecology. This year's Sabbat is characterized by a wide coverage of territories and more active participation of residents than ever before. In addition, it was widely promoted on social networks, and young people's interest in environmental culture increased. Another significance of such Sabbaths is the strengthening of unity between people. Neighbors living in the same yard working together, employees of each institution working together on a common task - this is not only a waste collection, but also a factor that increases people's communication. During the Sabbath, citizens of different ages working shoulder to shoulder is a positive manifestation that demonstrates the potential of society. The city administration noted that such collective events have a great educational value. Setting an example through concrete actions is an effective way to explain the importance of environmental protection, especially to the younger generation. Future plans The Shymkent city administration and environmental organizations will continue to organize Saturdays in the future. In addition, various trainings and flash mobs will be held to introduce a culture of waste sorting and increase environmental literacy among residents. These initiatives will allow achieving long-term results. The Sembilik, which took place on July 21, 2025, is one of the important steps towards the development of ecological culture in the city of Shymkent. It is worth noting that compared to similar events held in previous years, the activity of the participants of this year's Sembilik, the scale of the territory covered, and the level of organization were higher. This Sembilik was not only a manifestation of cleanliness, but also a manifestation of social responsibility and unity. It is important that other cities, using this example, also take measures aimed at improving public spaces, because ecology is one of the main factors determining the quality of life of each person.
Digital surveillance as a guarantee of order: the new article of the Criminal Code has strengthened discipline and saved the budget. 26.07.2025
70 Criminal Cases in a Year: Damaging Surveillance Cameras in Prisons Is Now a CrimeDigital Control as a Guarantee of Order: New Article of the Criminal Code Strengthens Discipline and Saves BudgetSince July 2024, a new article — 428-1 — has been introduced into the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, establishing criminal liability for the intentional damage or disabling of surveillance cameras in penitentiary institutions. This provision was adopted in the context of the large-scale implementation of a 24/7 video surveillance system in correctional facilities and was a response to the increasing number of deliberate equipment damage incidents. Cameras record all events, ensuring transparency for both inmates and penitentiary staff. In the first year of the article’s enforcement, more than 70 criminal cases have been initiated. 35 inmates have already been sentenced to additional prison terms and are required to compensate for the material damage caused. For example, at Correctional Facility No. 55 in Shymkent, 13 inmates deliberately disabled surveillance cameras. By court ruling, each was given an additional 6 years of imprisonment.Today, over 43,000 cameras have been installed across 78 correctional facilities in the country. Live video feeds from these cameras are transmitted in real time to the Committee of the Penal System, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Prosecutor's Office. This system allows:Monitoring compliance with human rights;Prompt detection of illegal actions;Strengthening discipline among inmates and personnel.According to the Committee of the Penal System, the number of offenses prosecuted under Article 428-1 is already showing a downward trend. This confirms the effectiveness of the new measure, helps preserve expensive equipment, and reduces government spending.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/ps/press/news/details/1040881?lang=kk
Shymkent on the move: how the city is rebuilding its transport system 26.07.2025
Shymkent on the move: how the city is rebuilding its transport system Shymkent is one of the fastest growing cities in Kazakhstan, and the transport infrastructure here has long required adaptation to new realities. Population growth, an increase in the number of cars and the expansion of the urban area pose the task for the authorities - to transform disparate road sections into a single and sustainable system. A comprehensive program to upgrade the transport infrastructure was launched in the metropolis in 2024. It covers not only the construction of roads and interchanges, but also the modernization of stops, safety systems and lighting. Scale: from streets to highways According to official data, by the end of 2024, 75% of city roads were already in good or satisfactory condition. In 2025, it is planned to increase this figure to 90%. The main efforts are aimed at developing connectivity and reducing the load on central streets. Among the major projects is the construction of railway crossings on Momynova and Tlenshina streets in the Yenbekshinsky district. They will connect the eastern part of the city with the center, which will redistribute traffic flows and reduce congestion on existing highways. Construction on Momynova started in December 2024 and is already half complete. At the same time, major repairs are underway on the emergency bridge at the intersection of Koikeldi Batyr and Aknazar Khan streets. The work will be completed by the end of 2025. One of the most ambitious projects was the extension of Kunayev Avenue. The total length of the route is 16.3 km, the work is divided into six stages. Some sections have already been completed, two more are planned to be completed by the end of the year, and the final stage - in 2026. The new avenue should become an alternative to the busy Respubliki Avenue and relieve traffic on the way out of the city. The reconstruction of the A-2 bypass road is also actively underway. This 28.2 km long transit corridor connects Shymkent with other regions of the country and plays a key role in cargo transportation. The first four stages have already been completed, and three more are planned for completion in 2025. The last stage will be completed in 2026. Part of the strategy also includes the construction of new connecting streets: the extension of Kaziyev Street (1.7 km) will provide an alternative exit from the northern microdistricts of Akzhayik and ShymCity. By 2026, the authorities intend to completely pave 850 streets with a total length of over 1,000 km. Of these, 540 streets will be paved this year. Focus on safety: from pedestrians to lighting Along with road construction, efforts to ensure road safety are being stepped up. In 2025, 32 new traffic lights will appear in the city, 10 of which have already been installed. Unregulated pedestrian crossings are another weak link in the system. Currently, more than 140 of the planned 200 points are illuminated. Work is also underway to install 6,000 road signs (half of which have already been installed), to install speed bumps near schools (1,200 meters), and to renew sidewalks — 180 km have already been put in order. Additionally, the markings on 500 km of streets have been updated, and new irrigation channels have been installed in flood zones (30 streets). The street lighting program covers 2,743 streets, of which 1,550 are already equipped with lamps.

To date, the total amount of financing has been fully utilized: 37 loans totaling 1.5 billion tenge have been approved. Most of the loans are aimed at the development of animal husbandry. In addition, financial institutions also implement their own business support programs. Applications are accepted by Bank CenterCredit JSC, Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan JSC, Freedom bank JSC, ForteBank JSC and Nurbank JSC.In addition, work is underway in the region to create small industrial zones. The competition is scheduled for September of this year.At the same time, various non-financial support measures implemented by the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kostanay region covered about 1,500 business entities and individuals with entrepreneurial initiatives in the first half of this year.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/kostanay/press/news/details/1040858?lang=kk

A total of 60 people participated in the project. Young men and women gathered from remote villages, active, successful in their studies, and successful in their work, united under one roof. The youth were divided into four groups and performed various tasks. Each group consists of fifteen people. They competed with each other, standing out in red, yellow, blue, and green. The first day of the youth gathering began with the official opening ceremony. It was attended by Deputy akim of the Denisovsky district Aigul Bektemisova, who addressed the youth with fiery words. "The Summer Sports Contest of Kostanay region has recently been held in our district. It is important that young people attend such a significant event. Therefore, I urge you to take part in sports competitions and protect the honor of the district," Aigul Bektemisova said. The forum lasted for two days. On the first day, information and explanatory work on the topic of behavior and ethical standards was carried out on the social network. In the afternoon, a creative concert was presented to the public. The fun was followed by a themed dance party. And on the second day, a flash mob training session took place. A military-patriotic quest game was organized, where medical staff advised how to behave during the incident. He professionally answered the question of What to do if you suddenly have a limb injury. He showed the methods of bandaging the injury. Then sports events were organized, and at the end of the forum, a large tree was glued to the wall, on which young people wrote their wishes. I shared my impressions of the forum. Within two days, four specialists from the district youth resource center joined forces with the youth and became consultants. "The most valuable moment in a person's life is youth. It's a time when everyone burns, works hard, and lays the foundation for their lives. We are holding the forum in accordance with the annual plan, so that today's youth do not lose their burning youth, but lean towards a useful goal. This initiative continues this year. The Youth Forum has already proved its results. We have never neglected the boys and girls of remote villages and towns. We try to involve them in community service by bringing them close to important projects in the area. We spend every day of our youth effectively "dedicating it to a useful cause," said Tatiana Alpysbaeva, head of the regional youth resource center. How fraudsters can deceive a child: main schemes 25.07.2025
Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market warns that during summer holidays, children face an increased risk of becoming victims of fraudsters.Fraudsters use children's free time and increased activity in the digital environment to deceive, offering fake mobile games, goods and services, promising easy money or gifts.During this period, children are most likely to become the target of fraudulent actions intended to gain an access to their parents' financial information and funds. Lack of knowledge and credulity make them vulnerable to various types of digital deception.Particularly dangerous are such schemes as fake winnings with a request to enter card details, false requests for help from "friends" or "relatives", malicious applications and suspicious links. In many cases, the child himself does not realize that he is dealing with fraudsters.Particular attention should be paid to cases where children are offered to download an application or game supposedly at a discount or without advertising - such files may contain malicious code. If smartphone is linked to a bank account of parent, fraudsters gain an access to confidential information and can steal funds.Schemes for collection of geodata through "smart" applications are also common. In this way, attackers find out where the family lives, where the parent works, where the child studies and what he or she is interested in. This creates risks not only of financial losses but also of threats to safety of the entire family. The Agency recommends that parents regularly conduct explanatory talks with their children about risks on the Internet, limit the time the child spends online, install antivirus programs, use parental control settings, and teach children basics of digital and financial literacy. It is important to explain that the child can turn to their parents for help in any situation.More useful materials are available on Fingramota.kz website.
