Paris, 13 June 2025 — The UNESCO Headquarters in Paris hosted the official opening of the exhibition “Roots of Inspiration: Legacy of Nurgisa Tlendiev”, dedicated to the centennial of the outstanding Kazakh composer, conductor, and master of traditional dombra kuy music.The reputable intergovernmental organization’s 42nd General Conference previously included this jubilee in the list of anniversaries with which UNESCO is associated in 2024–2025 in recognition of Tlendiev’s remarkable contribution to the cultural heritage not only of his nation but of all humanity.The exhibition was jointly organized by the Akimat (City Administration) of Almaty, the Permanent Delegation of Kazakhstan to UNESCO, and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.The exhibition was curated by the Almaty Museum Association as it features nearly 70 valuable exhibits from the collections of the Ykhlas Museum of Folk Musical Instruments and the Nurgisa Tlendiev Memorial Museum. You rightfully deserve to be called peacetime heroes. He cited the example of prominent national figures, famous doctors Khalel Dosmukhamedov and Sanjar Asfendiyarov, who devoted their lives to fighting both for the independence of the country and for the well-being of our people.– Today, about 380 thousand people work in the field of domestic healthcare. The work of each specialist cannot be overestimated. Entire medical dynasties have formed in the country, dedicating their lives to improving people's health. Thus, the Dzhuvashev family from Almaty has 13 doctors with a total experience of 375 years. And in Atyrau region, there are 16 doctors in the Shanaev family. This is a worthy example of continuity and fidelity to the vocation. Today, the national healthcare system is steadily moving forward. We have a lot of achievements. The average life expectancy in the country has reached 75.4 years. Maternal and child mortality decreased by about 12%. In five years, about 800 polyclinics and hospitals have been built. Work in this direction will continue. The government will continue to develop the infrastructure. Caring for the health of the nation begins with the provision of primary medical care. The country is implementing a national project to modernize rural healthcare. To date, 469 facilities have already been built, and 186 more will be commissioned by the end of this year.
