Cooperation instead of competition. Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are reaching a new level of partnership. Cooperation between the two countries is developing in trade, industry, logistics, and digitalization.Speaking at the Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan Business Forum in Astana, Aidar Abildabekov, Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted that economic ties between the two countries are steadily strengthening. From January to August 2025, trade turnover reached $343.3 million, with Kazakhstan's exports amounting to $290.8 million, and imports from Azerbaijan increasing by more than 58%.According to the Vice Minister, Kazakhstan proposes expanding its export basket with Azerbaijan to include agricultural products totaling approximately 14.5 million tons. This includes grains and oilseeds, flour, butter, and potatoes."Today, it is important to build sustainable production chains and joint projects that create added value. This is the essence of cooperation. "We will develop not in parallel, but together," he emphasized.During the forum, an official signing ceremony was held for 16 cooperation agreements and memoranda between representatives of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. The signed documents included agreements in industry, tourism, education, digital technology, and logistics.Cooperation was cemented by memoranda between Kazpost and Zira Port, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs and the KOBIA agency, as well as between a number of private companies from the two countries. Wildberries has recorded increased demand for products from Kazakhstani entrepreneurs during the "Bereke Fest" promotion, timed to coincide with Republic Day. Since the launch of the promotion on Wildberries in mid-October 2025, Kazakhstani interest in online shopping has increased by 5% compared to the previous week*. More than 8,500 domestic entrepreneurs are participating in the promotion, independently setting discounts on their products ranging from 10% to 90%.The highest demand among shoppers in the country was for the following product categories: network equipment (+223% in monetary terms), garden equipment (+134%), auto electronics (+114%), baby food (+101%), kitchen appliances (+13%). The top ten most popular products during the promotion period included juicers (demand increased 18-fold), smartphones (10-fold), garden equipment (electric saws and snow blowers, 7-fold), sports accessories (4-fold), and cordless vacuum cleaners (2-fold).The most active shoppers over the past week were residents of Almaty, Karaganda, Astana, Pavlodar, as well as the Akmola and East Kazakhstan regions.The "Bereke Fest" promotion was launched by the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the end of September 2025. The regional Akim, Murat Ergeshbayev, visited the sown areas of the partnership of the Ybyrai Zhakhayev Kazakh Rice Research Institute.The head of the region was presented with the institute's research and production activities, as well as work on the effective use of agricultural technologies and water resources applied in rice farming.The Ybyrai Zhakhayev Kazakh Rice Research Institute has been operating as a subsidiary organization within the National Agrarian Scientific and Educational Center since 2015. It is engaged in the production and sale of unique, elite, first reproduction rice seeds.Currently, 118 people work at the institution, including 20 research staff. The scientific staff includes 5 Doctors of Sciences, 2 Candidates of Sciences, 1 PhD Doctor, and 8 Masters. Furthermore, 8 young scientists are conducting research work.The institute's agricultural land totals 4,984.4 hectares, with arable land at 1,493.2 hectares, pastures at 1,741.3 hectares, hayfields at 780 hectares, other land at 969.9 hectares, and there are 28 units of machinery. This year, 500 hectares have been sown and are being cultivated for rice. To date, 310 hectares have been sown, of which 290 hectares are flooded.The regional Akim instructed the responsible industry leaders to widely introduce water-saving technologies, effectively use scientific innovations in production, and perform the work with quality and on time.It is worth noting that this year, a total of 185.8 thousand hectares are being sown in the region, including 89.7 thousand hectares of grain crops, 6.1 thousand hectares of oilseed crops, 73.2 thousand hectares of forage crops, and 16.8 thousand hectares of potatoes, vegetables, and melons.In accordance with the task set by the Head of State, compared to last year, the rice area has been reduced by 10.9 thousand hectares, with planting planned for 70 thousand hectares.For the spring sowing campaign, 19.7 thousand tons of rice seeds have been prepared, as well as 1,570.9 tons of seeds of other grain crops, 126.6 tons of oilseeds, and 301.6 tons of forage crop seeds.To date, 11.4 thousand tons of rice seeds, which is 58.1 percent, have been brought to sowing condition.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/kyzylorda/press/news/details/1231270?lang=ru

Luxembourg, October 20, 2025 – During a working visit to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arman Issetov held talks with Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg Jean Olinger.The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, paying special attention to the development of political dialogue, as well as to the expansion of cooperation in economic and cultural spheres.The diplomats paid particular attention to implementation of the agreements reached during the meeting between President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Prime Minister of Luxembourg Luc Frieden on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on September 23, 2025. The Kazakh diplomat noted that this meeting had given new momentum to bilateral relations and opened up opportunities for further development of cooperation.Deputy Minister Issetov emphasized that Kazakhstan regards Luxembourg as an important partner within the European Union, taking into account that this year Kazakhstan and the EU mark the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement. In 2024, trade turnover totaled 19.54 million dollars (exports – 36.5 thousand, imports – 19.5 million). The gross inflow of direct investment from Luxembourg into Kazakhstan in 2024 amounted to 520.5 million dollars, compared to 424.5 million dollars in 2023. From 2005 to the second quarter of 2025, the total volume of investments amounted to 3.5 billion US dollars.
