Kazakhstan and Canada Held Consular Consultations 29.03.2025
Astana, March 17, 2025 – Consular consultations between Kazakhstan and Canada were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues, including visa processing, improvement of migration processes and prospects for cooperation in the consular sphere.Special attention was paid to simplification of visa procedures of Canada for Kazakhstan’s citizens.The Canadian side informed about the introduced innovations in the processing of Canadian visa, greatly facilitating the processes of consideration of applications. It was also noted that currently for the citizens of Kazakhstan the terms of consideration and issuance of visas are significantly reduced. Kazakhstan Develops International Cooperation in Migration 29.03.2025
Astana, March 19, 2025 – The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akan Rakhmetullin, met with the Regional Director of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Arthur Erken.During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to Kazakhstan’s cooperation with the IOM, including joint efforts to prevent illegal migration and combat human trafficking.First Deputy Minister Rakhmetullin expressed his appreciation for IOM’s support of the Almaty Process, which aims to address challenges associated with mixed migration flows in Central Asia.The parties also exchanged views on preparations for the upcoming Ministerial Conference of the Almaty Process, which will take place in Baku on April 24, 2025. During this event, Kazakhstan will officially assume the chairmanship of the process.The Kazakh diplomat emphasized that, as the chair of the Almaty Process, Kazakhstan intends to strengthen regional cooperation with IOM within the framework of the UN Regional Center for Sustainable Development, which is currently being established in Almaty.The Almaty Process is a regional consultative platform on refugee protection and international migration covering Central Asia. A hot briquetted iron plant will be built in Kostanay region 29.03.2025
During a working meeting between the Akim of Kostanay Region Kumar Aksakalov and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ERG S.a.r.l. Shukhrat Ibragimov, the construction of a hot briquetted iron (HBI) plant in the city of Rudny was discussed.This strategically important project will become a new stage in the development of ferrous metallurgy in the region and will attract 500 billion tenge of investment, create 1,100 new jobs and produce 2 million tons of HBI per year.The production of hot briquetted iron will ensure deeper processing of raw materials and increase the added value of products.Current project statusPre-project preparation is currently underway, the modern technology "Midrex" has been selected. In the near future, contracts will be concluded for the manufacture and supply of equipment. In the summer of 2025, construction of engineering infrastructure will begin, including water, gas and electricity supply, as well as access roads.Additional ERG Investments in Regional DevelopmentA memorandum of cooperation between the Akimat of Kostanay Region and ERG for 2.7 billion tenge was also signed during the meeting. During a meeting led by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, discussions revolved around the advancement of the creative sector and the digital transformation of cultural activities. Following this meeting, regional akim Nurlybek Nalibayev convened another meeting where he directed the akims of Kyzylorda, various districts, and heads of pertinent departments to formulate suggestions for events involving participants from the creative industry and to propose new initiatives.- It is necessary to analyze the creative industry entities, increase their number, and also strengthen the work of creative hub corners in the Rukhaniyat centers, - the head of the region noted. - It is necessary to conduct monthly monitoring of the work of the E-Archive information system of state archives and institutions. МВД продолжает изъятие незаконного оружия и боеприпасов 29.03.2025
Министерством внутренних дел продолжается работа по обнаружению и изъятию из незаконного оборота оружия, в том числе похищенного в период январских событий.- С начала года полицией изъято 664 единицы различного оружия, 54 гранаты и порядка 8 тысяч боеприпасов.В целом благодаря принятым мерам за последние три года найдено и изъято 8 541 единица различного оружия, а также 870 гранат и 118 246 боеприпасов.Кроме того, в ходе оперативных мероприятий в разных регионах страны удалось обнаружить 772 схрона, в которых хранилось 2 316 единиц оружия.На сегодня достоверно установлено принадлежность 1 263 единиц оружия, похищенного в период январских событий.По остальным изъятым 7 278 единицам оружия злоумышленниками умышленно уничтожены и стерты регистрационные номера, в связи с чем по ним в настоящее время назначены соответствующие экспертизы на предмет их идентификации.Данная работа продолжается на постоянной основе, - сообщил начальник департамента криминальной полиции МВД Канат Нурмагамбетов.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/qriim/press/news/details/960701?lang=kk

91 families received keys to new housing in Tobyl 29.03.2025
On the eve of Nauryz Meiramy, a ceremonial presentation of keys to new apartments took place in the Kostanay district. As part of the implementation of the state housing policy, 91 families received long-awaited housing.The keys were presented to the new settlers by the Akim of the Kostanay region Kumar Aksakalov. He noted that providing the population with affordable housing is one of the main priorities of the state.Development of housing construction in the regionOn the instructions of the Head of State, programs to provide the population with housing are being actively implemented in the regions. In 2024, almost 500 thousand square meters of housing were commissioned in the Kostanay region, which allowed more than 5 thousand families to acquire new apartments.In addition, active work is underway in the region to acquire rental housing. In 2024, more than 18 billion tenge were allocated for the purchase of 940 apartments, which is 5.7 times more than the volume of 2023.Work in this direction continues. In Kostanay region, a meeting was held between the regional akim Kumar Aksakalov and representatives of the Chinese company WEINENGDA IMPORT AND EXPORT (HUBEI) CO., LTD. Vice President of the company Li Shan Fin took part from the Chinese side. During the negotiations, the possibility of building a wagon repair depot in the village of Tobol in the Beyimbet Maylin district was discussed.The regional akim emphasized that Kostanay region is developing in three key areas:•automotive industry,•ferrous metallurgy,•processing of agricultural products.The development of these industries requires modern transport and logistics infrastructure. If the project is implemented, the wagon repair depot will become an important element of the region's railway system, providing technical maintenance of rolling stock and production of spare parts for railway transport.Kostanay region continues to strengthen its industrial base and actively attracts investors to strategically important projects. Bucharest, March 17, 2025 – The prospects of establishing a strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Romania became the key topic on the agenda of the 8th round of political consultations held today in Bucharest. The Kazakh side was represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Roman Vassilenko, while the Romanian side was represented by State Secretary for Strategic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ana Tinca.In the course of the discussion, the diplomats addressed a broad range of issues, including the deepening of political dialogue, the strengthening of trade and economic ties, and the development of investment cooperation. It was underlined that the legislative bodies of both countries play an important role in developing not only political dialogue but also trade, economic and humanitarian relations. In general, the talks in Bucharest confirmed the high level of bilateral interaction and laid the foundations for the establishment of a strategic partnership which will open up new niches for sustainable economic growth and the strengthening of the international positions of both countries.For reference: Romania is Kazakhstan’s No.1 trade and investment partner in the region of Central and South-Eastern Europe, ranking 5th in Europe and 10th in the world among all trading partners. Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Romania for 2024 amounted to 2.92 billion US dollars (exports – 2.78 billion, imports – 138 million), which is 1.6% more than in 2023 (2.87 billion dollars). Gross inflow of investments from Romania into the economy of Kazakhstan – 1.57 billion dollars (from 2005 to Q3 2023). The two sides discussed the current state and future development of the Kazakh-Japanese extended strategic partnership in trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian areas, as well as cooperation within international organizations.Minister Nurtleu conveyed to the Prime Minister the words of greetings and best wishes from the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Tokyo, March 17, 2025 – As part of his official visit to Japan, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Takeshi Iwaya.The parties discussed key issues of enhancing political dialogue at the highest and high levels, as well as deepening trade, economic, investment, and cultural ties.The ministers emphasized that Kazakhstan and Japan have reached the level of an expanded strategic partnership within a relatively short historical period.“Over the past three decades, we have established a strong political dialogue, built mutually beneficial economic cooperation, and fostered close cultural and humanitarian connections,” noted Nurtleu.Special attention was paid to economic cooperation. Japan ranks among the top ten largest foreign investors in Kazakhstan, with total investments since 1993 amounting to 8 billion US dollars.
