Agreements are being made with investors on the construction of a third sugar factory in the Zhetysu region. As a result, it will be possible to process up to 1 million tons of sugar beet. This was stated by the regional governor Beibut Isabayev during an extended interview with representatives of the regional media in the studio of the "Jetisy" TV channel, - the press service of the Zhetysu region governor reports.- This year, modernization work will be carried out at the Koksu sugar factory for 60 million euros. As a result, the annual capacity of the factory will reach 500 thousand tons. And the capacity of the Aksu sugar factory is 350-400 thousand tons. So we already have the ability to process 800-900 thousand tons of beet. The fertile land of Zhetysu is sufficient. In addition, we will modernize irrigation systems and increase the volume of irrigated land. At that time, we have the opportunity to increase the volume of sugar beet to 1,000,000 tons. If we launch a third sugar factory, we will be able to fully process such a large product ourselves, - said B. Isabayev.Let us recall that last year, 630 thousand tons of sugar beet were harvested from 13 thousand hectares of land in the Zhetysu region. This is the first abundant harvest since independence. And the temporary difficulty in sales was caused by the situation of farmers in the Zhambyl region. 100 thousand tons of sugar beet were received from the Zhambyl region and sent for processing to the Aksu sugar factory.Discussing this year's plans, the head of the region noted that much attention would be paid to the processing of agricultural products. The "Clean Kazakhstan" environmental campaign, initiated by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, is underway in the Aksuat district. Cleaning activities contribute not only to environmental protection, but also to increasing social responsibility in society. For example, charity campaigns within the framework of the "Clean Thursday" and "Let's Honor Veterans" projects, which were often organized in the district in 2024, will continue this year. In particular, since the beginning of the year, volunteer youth have been helping elderly people living alone in each village and clearing snow around their homes. "Taking care of the elderly is our duty. Reaching out to those in need is our desire," say the active youth participants in the campaign. Residents of the district, who are not indifferent to cleanliness, are actively participating in the "Clean Kazakhstan" campaign and are helping to clear the sides of roads and attractions from snow with the onset of winter. In December, January, and February, 4,250 cubic meters of snow were removed in the district as part of the eco-campaign. 2 trucks, 2 motor graders, 1 ZIL, 1 backhoe loader, 2 MAZ, and 1 Shacman vehicles were involved in this work. In accordance with the anti-flood action plan, an additional 14 tons of diesel fuel are being purchased."In the event of an emergency in the district, 205 people and 80 pieces of various equipment will be mobilized. 23 agreements and contracts of intent and 43 memorandums have been signed with institutions, individual entrepreneurs, and farms to provide food, catering, accommodation, transportation services, and fuel and lubricants. In rural districts, bags were distributed to create temporary dams in case of a flood threat. In the autumn months, they were 100 percent cleaned of garbage and grass.
