During a meeting with residents of the Medeu district, Almaty Mayor Yerbolat Dossayev spoke about the development of road and transport infrastructure.The city mayor announced that 26 streets with a length of 23 km will be repaired in 2024. This year, another 23.7 km of roads on 25 streets are planned for medium repair.To improve the quality of the street-road network in the Medeu district, 64 thousand square meters of road surface were restored last year, 14.3 km of sidewalks and 10 km of drainage networks were built on 30 streets. This year, a number of additional works are planned, including the repair of 73 thousand square meters of road surface, the construction of more than 36 km of new sidewalks on 9 streets, and the construction of about 5 km of drainage networks on 18 streets.During the meeting, the mayor of Almaty also reported on the work being carried out to improve the quality of public transport services in the district. In 2024, the rolling stock was increased by 300 units to 1,569 buses, which allowed organizing 8 new routes and updating and strengthening 42 existing routes. The results of the socio-economic development of the Medeu district of Almaty for the past year show positive dynamics. This was announced by the mayor of the metropolis, Yerbolat Dossayev, during a meeting with residents of the district.According to the mayor, the number of operating business entities increased by 5.2% to 46.2 thousand. The volume of retail trade increased by 5% to 1.4 trillion tenge, and the construction sector increased by 38.7% to 101 billion tenge.The tourism sector is also actively developing. Over 430 thousand tourists visited the Medeu district in the first 9 months of 2024, including 99,290 foreign guests. This is 6% more than in the same period in 2023, and the number of foreign tourists increased by 10%.These indicators contributed to an increase in tax revenues in the Medeu district by 18.7%, to 443.1 billion tenge, as well as the creation of 8 thousand new permanent jobs.Thanks to active economic development, the district budget increased by 32% in 2024, reaching 36.1 billion tenge, and in 2025 by another 6.4%, amounting to 38.4 billion tenge.The main areas of work of the city and district akimats will be the further modernization of engineering and social infrastructure, as well as the active development of a comfortable urban environment.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/almaty/press/news/details/947495
