The next hero of our column "Faces of Science" is Akmaral Serikbayeva.
Akmaral Kabylbekovna – Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Ecology and Geology at the Caspian University of Technology and Engineering named after Sh.Yesenova.
In 1996, she graduated from the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after H.A.Yasawi graduated with a degree in Ecology, in 2000 he completed a master's degree in Chemistry at Al–Farabi Kazakh National University, and in 2003 he completed postgraduate studies at the National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
She started her scientific activity in 1997 at the RSE "National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan", having worked her way up from an engineer to a senior researcher. In 2008, she defended her PhD thesis at the Chemical and Metallurgical Institute named after J.Abishev, specializing in Metallurgy of ferrous, non-ferrous and rare metals. Since 2011, she has continued her professional career at the Yesenov Caspian State University of Technology and Engineering as an associate professor at the Department of Ecology and Life Safety. From 2015 to 2020, she held the position of Head of the Department of Ecology and Chemical Technologies.
Her scientific and pedagogical experience is 23 years. Serikbayeva A. is the author of more than 120 articles, 9 patents of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 7 copyright certificates; 24 articles have been published in international peer–reviewed scientific journals included in the Web of Science and Scopus databases (the Hirsch index is 5 in both databases), more than 60 articles are in the journals of the KKSON list. His creative works include 15 publications (5 textbooks, 2 of which are marked with the RUMS of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and 10 monographs, 3 of them in English).
