An expanded meeting of the founding council was held in Astana under the chairmanship of the President of the Sports and Combat Sambo Federation, Colonel-General Ruslan Zhaksylykov.

Diyas Ukimet was unanimously elected Secretary General of the Kazakhstan Sambo Federation at the meeting. Members of the Sports and Combat Sambo Federation and representatives of regional associations of this sport took part in discussing his candidacy. 

Diyas Ukimet is a master of sports in Kazakh wrestling and belt wrestling, a candidate for master of sports in judo and sambo. He has headed sports schools in different years. Previously, he served as the chief expert of the Committee for Sports and Physical Culture of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The President of the Federation Ruslan Zhaksylykov instructed the new Secretary General to ensure a strategic approach to the organization's activities and professional training of athletes. He also drew special attention to the need to enhance international cooperation. Ruslan Zhaksylykov thanked Yernazar Beksultanov for his work as Secretary General and wished him success in his new position.
