Torebayev expressed appreciation for the results achieved and emphasized that promoting trade, e-commerce, and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) remains a national priority in line with Kazakhstan’s new economic policy outlined by the President.During the first phase of the project, the Kazakhstan Trade Portal (tradeinfo.kz) was launched, covering over 80 product categories and attracting more than 20,000 users. A range of online courses and training programmes on cross-border trade management were developed and delivered to over 3,500 business representatives. Particular focus was placed on the development of e-commerce – Kazakhstani SMEs recorded online sales exceeding USD 500,000, and national experts were trained and certified as e-commerce advisers. Addis Ababa, May 13-14, 2025 - The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Ethiopia participated in an international conference on Africa’s Faith Communities: advancing the suitable development goals, the African Union Agenda 2063 and the G20 in South Africa’s 2025 process.The conference was attended by leaders of African world and traditional religions, heads of Inter-religious Councils, diplomats, politicians, NGOs, and representatives of academic and expert circles. Issues of peacebuilding, climate change, education, and the protection of human rights were discussed.The conference was organized by the Inter-Religious Council of Ethiopia, the United Religions Initiative-Africa, and the G20 Interfaith Forum, in partnership with the bodies of the African Union.Opening the event, the President of Ethiopia, H.E. Mr. Taye Atske-Selassie, specifically noted the key role of religious leaders in peacebuilding and promoting progress in Africa, emphasizing that interfaith dialogue is not only a moral duty but also a practical force for achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the African Union's Agenda 2063, as religious organizations are already making significant contributions to humanitarian aid, conflict resolution, and democratic participation. He called for justice and reparations for Africans and people of African descent and expressed gratitude to religious leaders for their participation in the national dialogue in Ethiopia.In his address, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. On May 14, 2025, in the «UN Plaza» building, Ambassador-at-Large – Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty Zhanibek Abdrashov held a meeting with the Executive Coordinator of the UN Volunteers Programme Toily Kurbanov, who was on a visit to Almaty.During the meeting, the parties discussed preparations for the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development, which will be held in 2026 at the initiative of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in accordance with the UNGA resolution.Special attention was paid to the activities of the UNV Program in the framework of the implementation of the adopted resolution on the institutionalization of the UN Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan in Almaty.The Executive Coordinator of the Program highly commended Kazakhstan's contribution to the development of the hub and noted the transit, financial and cultural potential of the city as an international and regional center.During his visit to the «UN Plaza», T.
