         A convicted fraudster is serving his sentence in a medium security facility. Upon arriving at the colony, he told the staff that he had been a professional football player before his imprisonment.            — I started playing football when I was seven years old. Over the years, he played as a defender and midfielder for football clubs in Semey, Pavlodar, Astana, Uralsk, Kokshetau and other cities of Kazakhstan. Now I want to share my skills with other convicts. There are many young men among them who still have everything ahead of them, and fathers who, after being released, will be able to teach football to their children.                     The love of beer is more expensive than freedom: the alimony worker was sent to the colony of Semey.            A 38-year-old resident of Semey has not paid alimony to his two minor children for eleven years.          As a result, the amount of debt amounted to about 8 million tenge. For evading the payment of alimony, the man was sentenced to one year of restriction of freedom with mandatory involvement in 100 hours of forced labor.           The convict was registered with the probation service of the Zaton district of the city of Semey. Upon registration, the procedure and conditions of serving his sentence in the form of restriction of freedom were explained to him. However, despite the ongoing preventive work, the man repeatedly violated the established rules.: He did not show up for registration and left his place of residence at night.           In this regard, an electronic tracking device was used to track his location. During the monitoring, probation officers repeatedly recorded his unauthorized exits from the house. Within the framework of the new Law "On Public Procurement," which entered into force on January 1, 2025, a Unified Procurement Platform has been launched in Kazakhstan. This platform combines public procurement and procurement of the quasi-public sector. Against this backdrop, Kazakhstan’s proposal to advance cooperation on artificial intelligence – including the development of a draft Declaration on the Responsible Use of AI by Central Asian States-signals the region’s ambition to strengthen mutual trust and ensure secure data exchange in joint digital projects.He reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s intention to continue close cooperation with the Central Asian states under the mandate of the UNRCCA.In his remarks, Kaha Imnadze, Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, highlighted the Centre’s role in preventive diplomacy, regional coordination, and peacebuilding in line with the new UNRCCA Programme of Action for 2026-2030.
