Kazakhstan and UNOOSA Sign Memorandum on Establishment of a UN-SPIDER Regional Support Office in Astana 06.07.2026
Vienna, 19 June 2026 – A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the Vienna International Centre between the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and JSC «National Company «Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary» on the establishment of a Regional Support Office (RSO) of the United Nations Platform for Space-based Information for Disaster Management and Emergency Response (UN-SPIDER) in Astana.The Memorandum was signed by Dr. Aarti Holla-Maini, Director of UNOOSA, and Mr. Olzhas Shokparov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC «NC «Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary».The signing of the Memorandum marks an important step in strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United Nations in the application of space technologies for disaster risk management, emergency monitoring, and the enhancement of resilience to natural and technological hazards across Central Asia.Under the Memorandum, the UN-SPIDER Regional Support Office will be hosted by JSC «NC «Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary». Международное рейтинговое агентство Fitch Ratings подтвердило суверенный кредитный рейтинг Казахстана на уровне «BBB», прогноз «Стабильный».По оценке агентства, рейтинг Казахстана поддерживается сильной внешней позицией страны, значительным объемом чистых иностранных активов, а также низким уровнем правительственного долга.Fitch отмечает, что более высокие цены на нефть в 2026 году будут способствовать дальнейшему укреплению внешней позиции Казахстана. Валютные активы Национального фонда достигли 66,4 млрд долларов США по состоянию на конец мая 2026 года, увеличившись по сравнению с аналогичным периодом прошлого года. По прогнозам агентства, позиция Казахстана по чистым иностранным активам останется одной из сильнейших среди стран с сопоставимым рейтингом.Дополнительную поддержку внешней устойчивости оказывают валовые международные резервы страны, объем которых достиг 67,6 млрд долларов США в мае 2026 года. Concept of Establishing an International Water Organization Presented to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand 06.07.2026
Bangkok, 19 June 2026 - H.E. Mr. Margulan Baimukhan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Thailand and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP), met with Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand.The meeting focused on multilateral cooperation and coordination within the United Nations and other international organizations. The discussion also covered sustainable development, water and food security, and climate change adaptation.Ambassador Baimukhan briefed the Thailand side on President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s initiative to establish an International Water Organization under the auspices of the United Nations.
