Beware: scammers disguised as government officials deceive citizens 13.05.2025
The Department of State Revenue of the Mangystau region informs that recently there have been cases of fraud in which intruders can pose as government officials and use various schemes to gain access to personal data and financial resources of citizens. One of the schemes is that under the pretext of non–existent problems with the tax service, such as an allegedly blocked account or the presence of a letter from the tax service, a citizen is offered to urgently make an appointment with the agency. To do this, the scammers allegedly help to book a queue online and ask you to dictate the code that comes in the SMS. In fact, this code is a confirmation of a banking transaction, and by communicating it, the person himself opens access to his accounts. As a result, fraudsters get the opportunity to steal funds. In order not to become a victim of fraudsters, citizens are advised:- do not trust suspicious mailings and calls, even if the interviewee introduces himself as an employee of government agencies;- do not follow questionable links from messages;- under no circumstances disclose codes, card details, or other personal information received by SMS.;- do not transfer money at the request of unknown persons;- it is mandatory to verify the accuracy of incoming information through official websites or contact centers of government agencies;- at the slightest suspicion, immediately contact the bank and law enforcement agencies. It is important to remember that government employees do not have the right to request personal data, bank account numbers, cards, and other banking details from citizens by phone or via messengers.Take care of your data and finances. Be vigilant!(unofficial translation)Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/kgd-mangistau/press/news/details/994528?lang=kk

Anti—corruption monitoring in the housing and communal services sector: citizens' initiative is a step towards improving urban infrastructure 13.05.2025
As part of ensuring law and order in the field of housing and communal services, as well as as part of the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Volunteerism project, public monitoring of the condition of the roadway was carried out in the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk. The monitoring covered a section of the road along the passage from Pogranichnaya Street to Nazarbayev Avenue, 93. The monitoring was initiated by anti-corruption volunteer Pshenov Adil. As a result of the on-site inspection, significant damage to the road surface was recorded, which causes concern on the part of the townspeople and an active discussion in the public space. Following the monitoring results, A. Pshenov sent an official appeal to the authorized body — the Housing and Communal Services department of the Akimat of Ust-Kamenogorsk. The letter indicates the need for repair work on the specified site due to its unsatisfactory condition. In addition, the appeal contains an instruction to carry out repairs under warranty on another problematic site — from Nazarbayev Avenue to Bazhov Street. According to the current regulations, the work performed earlier by the contractor is subject to the elimination of defects within the framework of the warranty obligation. This example of civic engagement confirms the importance of the participation of concerned residents in the process of increasing transparency and accountability in the housing and communal services sector, as well as in combating corruption in the public procurement system and quality control of work performed.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/anticorruption-vko/press/news/details/993285?lang=kk
