Employers are increasingly less concerned with diplomas and more focused on the ability to solve real-world problems. Therefore, universities must transition to new educational models based on project-based learning, interdisciplinarity, and the development of adaptability skills in a rapidly changing environment. He also emphasized that amid global challenges—including underfunding sustainable development goals and growing geopolitical uncertainty—universities are becoming key centers for generating solutions and preparing future professionals.The speakers’ presentations demonstrated that universities in Central Asia are at a point of major transformation—from traditional educational institutions to active drivers of technological, social, and environmental change.During the foresight session, rectors of Central Asian universities discussed the prospects of integrating artificial intelligence into educational processes and its potential for achieving sustainable development goals. Officers of Institution No.51 of the Department of criminally-executive system in the North Kazakhstan region have thwarted an attempt to deliver prohibited substances disguised as a regular food parcel.During the inspection of a package addressed to one of the inmates, officers became suspicious of caramel candies. A thorough examination revealed small packets containing a brown powdery substance hidden inside two of the sweets.A forensic analysis confirmed that the seized substance was opium. The total weight of the drug substance amounted to 0.9 grams.A criminal case has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 297 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan — illegal manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, or sale of narcotic substances.According to the Department, this is the first attempt to smuggle drugs that has been prevented since the beginning of the current year.     Kazakhstan continues to improve the mechanisms of state control in the field of accounting, auditing, and valuation activities.    The authorized body is implementing changes aimed at increasing transparency, improving service quality, and reducing the administrative burden on businesses.    As of January 12, 2026, amendments to the joint order of the Minister of Finance and the Minister of National Economy have come into force, regulating the criteria for assessing risk levels and checklists in the field of accounting.    The new version clarifies the degrees of violations, updates the risk assessment criteria, and revises the checklists. The Social Health Insurance Fund recalls the timely payment of contributions and deductions - this is the basis for continuous access of citizens to medical care in the compulsory health insurance system.      The status "insured" is formed only if there are continuous payments for the last 12 months. In case of payment interruptions, the status is suspended, which limits access to medical care in the compulsory health insurance system.     Contributions and deductions must be paid monthly. At the same time, regarding the draft EAEU technical regulation for feed and feed additives, the domestic approval procedure has not been completed in the Russian Federation. Maintenance activities are currently ongoing on Prokofyev street, south of Abay Avenue.In addition, to improve road safety and prevent hazardous situations, the replacement of more than 1,000 manhole covers of utility inspection chambers is scheduled. The main scope of repair works is planned for April–May of this year, with further continuation throughout the summer period.
