New Wave of Phishing: Your iPhones Are Being Stolen Online 21.11.2025
The Center for Forecasting Criminal Threats and Public Security Risks of the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Accounting of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan warns of the threat of online fraud against iPhone owners.According to foreign sources (https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/lost-iphone-dont-fall-for-phishing-texts-saying-it-was-found/, https://itc.ua/news/moshennyky-obmanyvayut-vladeltsev-ukradennyh-iphone-falshyvymy-soobshhenyyamy-apple-find-my/), attackers are sending fake SMS or iMessage messages claiming to be Apple with an attached phishing link, stating the model, color, and memory capacity of the supposedly found iPhone, thereby creating the impression that the notification is genuine.By clicking the pinned link, the user is redirected to a fake page, visually identical to Apple's Find My service, which transmits the user's Apple ID login and password to scammers. This allows attackers to bypass the iPhone's activation lock and gain access to the device and personal information.Given that this type of threat is rapidly spreading, we strongly recommend:- Avoid clicking suspicious links;- Use a separate email address if you want to display contact information on the lost device's lock screen;- Protect the SIM card with a PIN to make it more difficult to access;- Check the device only through icloud.com/find.Remain vigilant and maintain cybersecurity. Archaeologists may have uncovered a Bronze Age metropolis in Kazakhstan’s steppe 21.11.2025
Upon the open grasslands of what is now Kazakhstan, there once stood a Bronze Age settlement that may have served as a center of exchange and power around 1600 BC.The settlement — called Semiyarka and nicknamed “The City of Seven Ravines” for its location overlooking a network of valleys — was first discovered in the early 2000s, but it wasn’t until an international group of archaeologists surveyed the area starting in 2018 that its impressive size and potential importance within the Eurasian Steppe came to light. What the team discovered was an expansive area that was once replete with houses, a central monumental building, which may have been used for rituals or governance, and possibly even tin bronze metal production facilities.Their findings, published Monday in the journal Antiquity, are just the beginning, the study authors said.“It’s very exciting, because it’s such a rare find to have tin bronze production in this area,” said lead author Miljana Radivojević, an associate professor in archaeological science at University College London, UK. “We know we have hundreds of thousands of tin bronze artifacts from the Bronze Age in the Eurasian steppe and we have only one published site on tin bronze production. And this is the second one.” Tin bronze allowed for sturdier tools and other materials to be made, Radivojević added. As the team now embarks on excavating the area, they say the continued discoveries of Semiyarka are transforming what we know about urban life in prehistoric Eurasia.“We just don’t have anything like this at all,” said study coauthor Dan Lawrence, a professor of archaeology at Durham University in the UK. There are hardly settlements of any kind recovered in the steppe, he added. “What you get across this landscape, we associate with mobile pastoral groups, and we think maybe they were in tents or yurts. What we’ve got here is something that’s very clearly quite different.”Spanning 140 hectares (about 346 acres) above the Irtysh River valley, the large size and strategic location of the settlement may indicate that the Bronze Age steppe had sophisticated cities similar to those located in more urban areas of the world at the time, Lawrence added.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/mfa-geneva/press/news/details/1109898?lang=kk

Kazakhstan Advances Green Corridor Reforms to Boost Transit Efficiency 21.11.2025
Kazakhstan outlined steps to implement the Green Corridor system and strengthen its role as a key Eurasian transit hub during a Nov. 18 meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin.Kazakhstan is moving forward with a comprehensive package of measures to streamline customs, modernize border infrastructure, and digitalize logistics processes. The Green Corridor initiative aims to reduce border delays and improve the efficiency of transit cargo moving across the country.Kazakhstan currently hosts five major international rail corridors linking China, Europe, Russia, Central Asia, and Iran. Transit volumes rose from 21.8 million tons in 2020 to 27.4 million tons in 2024, with forecasts reaching up to 100 million tons by 2035, reported the Prime Minister’s press service.A key task discussed at the meeting was reducing customs inspections that require wagon uncoupling, which disrupts train integrity and increases delays. The Finance Ministry is expanding digital customs tools, including the KEDEN information system, electronic queuing, and automated issuance of foreign permits at borders with China and Uzbekistan. More than 2.7 million bookings and 160,000 electronic permits have been issued.Integrated vehicle control systems and new logistics centers on the borders with China and Uzbekistan have increased the throughput capacity of checkpoints and reduced truck crossing times to as little as 30 minutes.A pilot project with the national railway operator automated the issuance of transit declarations on the China-Kazakhstan-Central Asia route, reducing processing time for container trains from three hours to 30 minutes. Expansion to China-Europe routes is underway.Kazakhstan is also preparing a multilateral seamless transit agreement with Central Asian and South Caucasus countries, expected to be finalized with Uzbekistan in 2026, with potential future participation from China. The meeting also reviewed progress in upgrading border checkpoints, modernizing rail stations, and renewing Kazakhstan’s wagon fleet, which now totals 145,700 units. Air cargo capacity continues to grow, with airports handling 29.7 million passengers and 171,000 tons of freight in 2024.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/mfa-geneva/press/news/details/1109908?lang=kk
