A meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, where the development of the tourism industry and digitalization was discussed. The Akim of the region, Nurlybek Nalibayev, participated in the meeting via teleconference. After the government meeting, the head of the region held a follow-up meeting. "Within a week, we need to make specific proposals on digitalization and further development of the tourism industry," said Akim N. Nalibayev. "We must ensure full implementation of the approved indicators and strengthen efforts to increase the number of tourists visiting our region. It is also important to inform about state support measures to subsidize the costs for entrepreneurs constructing tourist facilities and road service complexes." Responsible individuals were instructed to organize the mechanical cleaning of settlement areas and livestock yards before the start of spring disinfection measures. Deputy akim of the region and special representative of the President of Kazakhstan for the Baikonur Complex, Kairat Nurtai, along with deputy akim Ardak Zebeshev, held a meeting with Sergey Letyagin, deputy head of the Baikonur City Administration. They discussed the potential of the electrical infrastructure at the Baikonur complex, as well as the development and use of renewable energy. Currently, there are two substations in Baikonur. The participants explored options for modernizing the energy infrastructure, building new power plants, and attracting investment. The akimat of the region is actively working on developing renewable energy sources to meet international commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions under the Paris Agreement. The region has nine solar power plants with a total capacity of 89 MW, three of which were established with foreign investment. Additionally, six projects with a total capacity of 201.5 MW are underway.
