As part of the implementation of the instructions of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, preparations are underway in the Zhambyl region to conduct an agricultural census in 2025.
In order to fully understand the state and real picture of agriculture in the region, work is continuing on the identification of farm animals.
According to the head of the Veterinary Department, Bakhyt Betbayev, animals such as cows, goats, sheep, and camels are identified free of charge at the expense of the state.
The chipping of horses is carried out at the expense of the owner. Previously, the cost of this service was 1,200 tenge. Today, the price has decreased to 350 tenge. As a result of active explanatory work carried out on behalf of the akim of Zhambyl region, farmers supported the electronic method of marking.
Recently, the Ar-As farm in the Merki district introduced chips into 350 horses.
- Thanks to the chips, we will now know all the information about the livestock and monitor the movement of the horses, - says the head of the farm Arnas Esbayev.
Applications also came from farmers in the Shu district: about 150 horses were chipped in private farms.
- The Dulat rural district, where the chipping of horses is carried out, is located along the republican highway. Chipping of farm animals helps reduce the number of road accidents and is an effective measure to prevent livestock theft. The cost of the chip is very low, so I urge you all to actively carry out this work, - said the chairman of the Shu district farmers' union Aitmukhambet Aitzhanov.
Such events will be held in all districts of the region. A total of 173,129 horses were chipped in the region.
– The chipping system is necessary to ensure veterinary security in the country, it allows for targeted livestock accounting and selection and breeding work. This procedure helps to detect possible diseases in livestock as early as possible, and to obtain high-quality products. It also helps to monitor each animal, provide timely veterinary care, prevent livestock diseases, plan and implement diagnostic measures. At the same time, in the event of the death of an animal, the owners of farm animals can receive compensation within the framework of the law, — said Bakhyt Betbayev.
