Bucharest, June 20, 2025 — a ceremonial conference dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great Kazakh poet, philosopher, and educator Abai Kunanbayev was held at the National Library of Romania, one of Bucharest’s main cultural centers. This significant event became a true bridge of cultural understanding between Kazakhstan and Romania, bringing together members of the diplomatic corps, scholars, artists, and public figures.The conference opened with a welcome address by Mr. Yerlik Ali, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Romania. In his speech, he emphasized the exceptional significance of Abai as a symbol of the spiritual awakening of the Kazakh people and a universal humanist whose ideas remain relevant at all times.The event participants were shown a documentary film that reveals the life of Abai, his contribution to the development of Kazakh literature, philosophy and national identity.Particular attention was drawn to the speech of Professor of the Faculty of Turkology of the Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Mrs. Margareta Aslan. Today, an offline workshop "AqylTech and it-Aiel" was organized in Turkestan, dedicated to improving the digital and financial literacy of women and young people. The event brought together young people and women from district cities of Turkestan region who want to be competitive in the digital world.The meeting was opened by the deputy head of the Department of digitalization, public services and archives of the Turkestan region Turabi Seitovich. He stressed the importance of mastering modern technologies for the participants.During the workshop, participants received useful information on the basics of digital skills, financial planning, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. All this knowledge can be used by them in the future to generate income and effectively manage the family economy.And the IT-Aiel project is aimed at increasing digital literacy and strengthening economic independence of young mothers and women with many children.        On June 18–19, 2025, a sub-regional international online seminar on intellectual property risk management for customs authorities of Central Asian countries was held with the support of the World Customs Organization (WCO). The event took place in a videoconference format and brought together representatives of the State Revenue Committee, its regional bodies, as well as customs administrations of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.      The seminar aimed to strengthen the capacity of customs authorities in the region to combat counterfeit goods and enhance the effective use of WCO’s modern tools for risk analysis related to intellectual property rights (IPR) violations. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting on cooperation with the People's Republic of China. The issues of realization of investment projects were discussed, taking into account the agreements reached during the talks between the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of China Xi Jinping during the last visit. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at present 224 industrial projects worth $66.4 billion are being implemented in Kazakhstan with the participation of Chinese investors with the creation of about 50 thousand jobs. China is one of the five largest investors in the economy of Kazakhstan: from 2005 to 2024, the volume of investments amounted to $26.4 billion.Prime Minister emphasized that the recent visit of the President of China to Kazakhstan gave a serious impetus to cooperation. Also noted the importance of the Forum of Industrial and Investment Cooperation “Central Asia - China” held in Astana. On the margins of the forum, Kazakhstan and China signed 58 commercial agreements totaling about $24 billion."The Head of State has set a task to attract foreign investment of at least 150 billion dollars by 2029. In this context, full-scale cooperation with China - one of the leading economic powers and our key investment partner - is the most important priority for Kazakhstan. Therefore, systematic measures are needed to increase investment and launch new joint projects, especially in the production of non-resource and export-oriented products. The recent visit of the President of the People's Republic of China to Kazakhstan at the invitation of the Head of our state once again demonstrated the high level of political and economic cooperation between the two countries. I will personally keep under control and provide full assistance to each project being implemented," - instructed Olzhas Bektenov.Prime Minister emphasized the need to intensify work in those regions, where there are no new projects, including Abay region, East-Kazakhstan region, and West-Kazakhstan region. Olzhas Bektenov instructed the leadership of these regions to establish interaction with partners and present specific initiatives as soon as possible.Attention was paid to the implementation of the instruction to intensify visits of regional delegations to the provinces of China to build long-term partnerships and attract investment. Olzhas Bektenov noted the positive dynamics in a number of regions, such as Astana city, Almaty, Kyzylorda, Turkestan regions, which signed agreements and reached preliminary agreements during the visit of the PRC Chairman. The rest of the regions are instructed to build work in this direction.The meeting also considered the implementation of new agreements concluded by the regions with Chinese partners within the framework of the forum “Central Asia - China”. Thus, Almaty region signed 7 documents worth more than $6 billion, including projects in the field of “green” energy, logistics, agro-industrial complex and industry.
