Gennadiy Golovkin appointed as Chair of new Olympic Commission by World Boxing 23.11.2025
President of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gennadiy Golovkin has been appointed as Chair of a new Olympic Commission by World Boxing, Olympic.kz reports.As Chair of the new Commission, Head of the NOC Kazakhstan, will focus on working with international sports organizations in matters of ensuring transparency of World Boxing activities. He will also work closely with the International Olympic Committee on World Boxing’s recognition and preserving boxing in the Olympic Games programme.“For me personally, as well as for Kazakhstan and all the sports world, it is important to keep Olympic Boxing, and this will be my top priority. Kazakhstan Strengthens Eurasian Transit Role as Two Terminals Earn UN Dry Port Status 23.11.2025
Two Kazakh logistics hubs, Dostyk Trans Terminal and the Global City Trade and Logistics Complex, have been added to the list of dry ports under the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP). The decision was adopted at the sixth meeting of the Working Group on Dry Ports, held in Bangkok, Thailand.The inclusion of these terminals marks a significant milestone for Kazakhstan’s growing role in Eurasian connectivity, reported the Ministry of Transport’s press service on Nov. 19.According to officials, the newly assigned status strengthens the country’s position on UN-recognized infrastructure maps and opens new opportunities for expanding its transit and logistics capabilities.The Dostyk Trans Terminal, located on the Kazakhstan–China border, plays a key role in facilitating rail freight flows between Asia and Europe. Violations based on the results of customs inspections 23.11.2025
The Department of State Revenue for the Mangystau region informs that the state revenue authorities conducted 830 customs inspections in January–October 2025, as a result of which 31 billion tenge was added and 24 billion tenge was recovered.Violations were detected in 81% of customs inspections.Compared to last year, the amounts of additional charges increased by 172%, and penalties by 266%.534 administrative cases have been initiated for violations in the customs sphere. The most common violations:- Incorrect determination of the customs value - 40%.- Incorrect classification of goods according to HS - 20%.- Misuse of restricted goods - 11%.- Violation of customs procedures, including temporary importation - 9%. Responsibility:For false information stated in the customs declaration, administrative liability is provided for under Article 551 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.If the amount of unpaid customs duties and taxes exceeds 10,000 MCI, criminal liability is imposed under Article 236 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.(unofficial translation)Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/kgd-mangistau/press/news/details/1110546?lang=kk

The event was attended by deputy principals for educational work, school psychologists, and social pedagogues.During the meeting, current issues concerning the state of psychological and pedagogical support in educational institutions were discussed. The main focus was on the increase in emotional difficulties among children and adolescents, alarming trends and systemic issues within the support system, as well as the importance of effective interaction among participants in the educational process.A key part of the meeting was the development of a unified support strategy. The discussions covered the development of teachers’ emotional support skills, the creation of indicators and checklists for early identification, the inclusion of support-related issues in the agenda of pedagogical councils, and collaboration between teachers and psychologists in developing individualized support plans for students.Participants were provided with methodological recommendations for supporting children and adolescents classified as “at risk,” prepared by specialists of the center. On November 21, the Subcommittee on Culture and Creative Industries of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken” presented the main provisions of the newly adopted amendments on intellectual property. UBM Group Implements Investment Projects in Kazakhstan 22.11.2025
Astana, November 21, 2025 - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov and Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Kazakh Invest Madiyar Sultanbek held a working meeting with the management of the Hungarian company UBM Group, headed by Chairman of the Board of Directors Akos Varga.During the meeting, UBM Group presented updates on the implementation of its investment projects in Kazakhstan, which include the construction of a premix plant in Almaty Region and a feed mill in Kostanay Region. The investors reported on progress in negotiations with partners, details of establishing joint ventures, preparatory work, and next steps within the agreed implementation schedule of the first phase.Under the first phase, the company plans to invest over 58 million US dollars in the construction of two plants. The production capacity will total 48,000 tons of premixes and 200,000 tons of compound feed per year. The project is oriented toward the markets of Kazakhstan, the EAEU, and China.The company has already signed a joint venture agreement with AsiaAgroFood JSC (KazFoodProducts Group) for premix production and is finalizing negotiations with Eco Broiler Ltd on the construction of the feed mill in Kostanay Region. Discussions are also underway to conclude an Investment Agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.Deputy Minister Kuantyrov emphasized that the UBM Group project would significantly strengthen Kazakhstan’s agro-processing sector, improve feed quality, and reduce dependence on imports. “We see the UBM Group project as an important step toward developing deep agricultural processing and establishing a modern feed industry in Kazakhstan. It is essential that the company is ready to localize technologies and operate on a long-term basis. The government will provide full support to ensure efficient and timely implementation of the project,” he said.Deputy Chairman Varga highlighted that the planned initiative would become Kazakhstan’s first industrial-scale premix producer and the largest feed manufacturer in the country, setting a new benchmark for agricultural processing. “We view Kazakhstan as a strategic partner and are confident that our production will create new opportunities for farmers. Local production of premixes and feed will reduce the cost of livestock products, increase their competitiveness, and ensure stable supply. We are investing in the long-term development of the sector and ready to introduce the best technological solutions,” stated Varga.The parties discussed infrastructure support, land allocation, gas and power connectivity, and subsequent project implementation phases. Large-scale renovation of the road infrastructure continues in all districts of the region. 22.11.2025
Comprehensive work continues in the region to upgrade the road network. Repairs are carried out not only in cities, but also in rural areas. This approach is designed to reduce the gap in living standards between rural and urban residents and ensure equal access to high-quality infrastructure.Significant increase in fundingOver the past three years, the amount of funds allocated for road repairs has increased significantly.In 2022, 8.5 billion tenge was allocated for these purposes.In 2023-2024, financing was increased to 20 billion tenge annually.This year, 29 billion tenge has been allocated for the repair of more than 400 streets in 103 settlements, which is 3.6 times more than in 2022.In terms of financing of the road industry, the region is among the leaders of the country, ahead of other regions in some cases up to 9 times.Work in the regional centerSpecial attention is paid to the regional center. In 2024, 8.2 billion tenge was allocated for the repair of streets and courtyards in Kostanay, which is 1.7 times higher than last year and 3.6 times higher than in 2022.Repairs were carried out on 85 streets with a total length of 51 kilometers.Implementation of major infrastructure projectsWork is also underway in the region on the republican road network. On behalf of the Head of State, the implementation of the Center–West project has begun — a new route from Astana through Arkalyk, Torgai and Irgiz with access to the Trans-Caspian International Corridor.The new route will shorten the journey by 560 kilometers and provide transport connectivity to 13 settlements with a population of about 70 thousand people.The repair of the road from Arkalyk to the border with Ulytau region is being completed. At the same time, work is underway to restore the airport in Arkalyk.Results and impact on the economyIn general, 103 billion tenge has been allocated to improve the condition of roads this year, which is 40% more than in 2024 (73.8 billion tenge). A total of 1,300 kilometers of public roads have been repaired.The development of road transport infrastructure is already showing a positive effect. Brussels, 20 November 2025 – The 22nd meeting of the “Republic of Kazakhstan – European Union” Parliamentary Cooperation Committee (PCC) took place in Brussels. The event coincided with the upcoming milestone anniversary — the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (EPCA) between Kazakhstan and the EU and its member states on 21 December 2015 in Astana. Since then, the document has served effectively as a legal foundation for strengthening the Kazakhstan–EU strategic partnership in political, economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, also covering interparliamentary relations.The PCC meeting was co-chaired by Aigul Kuspan, Chair of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Guisi Princi, Head of the Delegation of the European Parliament for relations with Central Asia.Opening the meeting, the co-chairs noted the stable nature of the strategic partnership between the EU and Kazakhstan, emphasizing that in recent years it has reached a qualitatively new level. Trade and investment cooperation discussed with the state of Amazonas 22.11.2025
Manaus, November 20, 2025 - As part of a working visit to the Brazilian state of Amazonas, Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Brazil Bolat Nussupov met with the state's with the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mario Cesar. The meetings were organized at the invitation of the state government as part of Brazil's presidency of the COP30 climate change conference.During the talks with officials of the Legislative Assembly, several trade and investment projects proposed by the Brazilian side were discussed. Particular attention was paid to mutually beneficial cooperation in agriculture and mining, as well as in forestry and ecology. The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mario Cesar invited Kazakh companies to cooperate on the basis of the Manaus Special Economic Zone. Ambassador Bolat Nussupov, in turn, invited companies from the state to participate in the «Kazakhstan-Brazil» Business Council, established in 2021 on the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Brazil on the basis of the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (CNI) and the Kazakhstan Industry and Export Center «QazIndustry».The Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly supported the initiative to establish partnership relations between the state of Amazonas and one of the regions of Kazakhstan with large forest areas, and also proposed the candidacy of Mr. José Cardoso Netto, a well-known businessman in the region, as honorary consul of our country in the city of Manaus. In addition, the parties agreed to organize a business mission from the state of Amazonas to Kazakhstan with a visit to a potential partner region next year.Regional cooperation is one of the important areas of bilateral cooperation. Currently, partnerships have been established between the Karaganda region and the state of Bahia (2022), the Almaty region and the state of Rio Grande do Sul (2024), and the East Kazakhstan region and the state of Santa Catarina (2025). The Brazilian state of Amazonas is the largest state in Brazil in terms of area, occupying more than 18% of the country's territory. Astana, November 21, 2025 – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev held a meeting with Gavin Hill, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kazzinc Holdings LLP, and Zhanat Zhanbotin, CEO of this company.During the meeting, current issues related to the implementation of existing projects were reviewed, prospects for the development of new fields and plans for geological exploration were discussed, as well as issues concerning the further expansion of production capacity and modernization of existing assets.Special attention was paid to sustainable development, compliance with environmental standards, logistics optimization, and ensuring the long-term stability of raw material supplies.
