In honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory, the Zhetysu Regional Museum of History and Local Lore named after M. Tynyshbaiuly organized a mobile exhibition titled «Ұмытылмас ерлік – ұрпаққа аманат» for children at the summer camp of the B. Kundakbayeva Secondary School in the village of Balpyk Bi, Koksu District. In honor of the 605th anniversary of the birth of Oraqty Alshaghyruly, a regional conference titled «Oraqty Batyr – A Heroic Symbol for Future Generations» was held 08.06.2025
А regional conference titled “Oraqty Batyr – A Heroic Symbol for Future Generations” was held at the Saken Seifullin Central Library in the Zhetysu region, dedicated to the 605th anniversary of the birth of the great batyr Oraqty Alshaghyruly.            In the history of Kazakhstan, batyrs who fought for the independence of the nation hold a special place. One of them is Oraqty Batyr Alshaghyruly. He was born in 1420 in the southern region of Kazakhstan and was one of the chief commanders under Khan Abulkhair, who ruled for nearly 40 years. Oraqty Batyr was not only a military leader but also a great figure who called for national unity and stood firmly for justice.            The regional conference was attended by the Head of the Department of Culture, Archives and Documentation of the Zhetysu region, Kuanysh Suleimenov; Kazakh statesman and public figure, writer Nauryz Kylyshbayev; professor, scholar, Turkologist, translator, and member of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan Zaripbai Orazbay; chairman of the public foundation «Zhalaiyr Oraqty Batyr» Bolysbai Mombaev; writer and Honored Cultural Worker of Kazakhstan Ali Yskabai; poet and member of the Union of Writers and Journalists Nusipbai Abdrakhim; local historian Kultan Nurkalbayev; descendants of Oraqty Batyr, as well as poets, writers, and journalists from the Zhetysu region.            During the event, a video about the life and heroic deeds of Oraqty Batyr in defense of his homeland was shown. Presentations were made, sharing factual information about the batyr, legends surrounding him, and stories about the batyr dynasty. The descendants of Oraqty Batyr expressed their thoughts on instilling the spirit of ancestral heroism in the younger generation and conveyed their gratitude to the organizers of the event.            At the conclusion of the conference, artists from the D. Kazakhstan and India Strengthen Economic Partnership: Outcomes of the Central Asia – India Business Council 08.06.2025
New Delhi, June 5, 2025 – As part of the official visit to the Republic of India, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu took part in the Central Asia – India Business Council.In his speech, the Kazakh Foreign Minister emphasized India’s importance as a key strategic partner in South Asia and noted the existing potential for growth in bilateral trade between Kazakhstan and India – from the current 1 billion US dollars in 2024 to 3 billion dollars in the near future. He also drew attention to the 41% increase in Indian investments in Kazakhstan’s economy, which exceeded 525 million dollars.“We consider this only as the beginning. Kazakhstan, as the largest economy in Central Asia and a transit hub between East and West, is ready to strengthen cooperation with India in such areas as trade, digital transformation, critical minerals, energy security, and humanitarian ties,” the Minister stated.Particular attention was paid to transport and logistical connectivity. Minister Nurtleu emphasized the importance of developing international corridors, particularly the “North – South” route and the Middle Corridor, and invited the Indian side to participate in joint infrastructure projects, including multimodal routes, fiber-optic lines, and regional energy grids.Kazakhstan also expressed its readiness to become a reliable supplier of strategic resources, including energy resources, rare earth metals, and agricultural products within the framework of India’s Viksit Bharat (Developed India) initiative.The sides explored opportunities in the field of digital technologies: over the past three years, the export of digital solutions from Kazakhstan has increased almost 12-fold, reaching 690 million US dollars. The Kazakh Minister called for deeper cooperation in the fields of IT, startups, research, and knowledge exchange.In the field of agriculture and food security, it was proposed to combine Kazakhstan’s agrarian potential with India’s food processing technologies.Among other promising areas, the growth of tourist flow from India was noted: in 2024, it reached 150,000 people – almost twice as many as the year before. Contributing factors included the introduction of a 14-day visa-free regime and the launch of direct flights between Almaty and New Delhi. Kazakhstan and Canada Continue to Strengthen Cooperation in the Mining Industry 08.06.2025
Astana, June 2-5, 2025, with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Canada, a Canadian business mission consisting of representatives of leading mining companies from Canada visited Kazakhstan. The visit was organized in conjunction with the 15th International Astana Mining & Metallurgy Congress held in Astana.On June 3, the delegation visited the production facilities of the Kazakhmys Group, where they toured the Nurkazgan mining and processing plant and an underground mine. The Canadian representatives had the opportunity to observe the operational processes and industrial infrastructure firsthand, as well as to exchange views with their Kazakh colleagues on technological development and industrial safety.As part of the Congress, a dedicated panel session titled “New Technologies, Expertise, and Modern Solutions – All in One: Canada’s Best for Kazakhstan’s Mining Sector” was held on June 4. Spring Festival “Qymyzfest” celebrated in Waldbrunn in accordance with kazakh traditions 08.06.2025
Waldbrunn-Mülben, June 1, 2025 — The Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Frankfurt am Main participated in the organization of the large-scale spring festival „Qymyzfest“, held at the farm of Zollmann Stutenmilch GmbH in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The event brought together around 1,000 participants, including members of the Kazakh diaspora, repatriates, local residents, and German friends of Kazakhstan.The festival was dedicated to International Children’s Day and symbolized the spirit of spring renewal, reflecting the essence of the Kazakh holiday Nauryz. It served as an important platform for promoting the traditions of the Kazakh people, their nomadic lifestyle, and the country’s unique cultural heritage. Special emphasis was placed on the preservation and popularization of Kazakh traditions among a broad international audience.The event was held in an atmosphere of traditional Kazakh hospitality and national flavor. Guests were treated to Kazakh and local cuisine, as well as traditional sweets, including pancakes made with mare's milk. Attendees also had the opportunity to taste qymyz — the famous Kazakh fermented mare’s milk drink. The company was founded in 1959 by German physician Dr. Rudolf Storch, who was inspired by the traditions of Kazakhstan’s nomadic peoples, who have long used mare’s milk for its healing properties. He sought to bring this practice to Europe.Today, his legacy is carried on by his son-in-law, Hans Zollmann — a veterinarian and animal husbandry specialist by training. The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Brazil took part in the BRICS Parliamentary Forum 08.06.2025
Brasília, June 5, 2025 – The XI Parliamentary Forum of BRICS Member and Partner Countries, organized by the Federal Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress of Brazil, has ended in the Brazilian capital. Bolat Nussupov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Federative Republic of Brazil, took part in the official closing ceremony of the forum.The forum, which lasted two days, included six panel sessions dedicated to the key areas of Brazil's BRICS chairmanship. Among them were the development of cooperation in the field of global health; strengthening trade, economic, investment and financial ties; combating climate change; the formation of international approaches to the management of artificial intelligence; peace and global security architecture; as well as institutional development aimed at increasing the effectiveness of multilateral mechanisms within BRICS.On the eve of the official meetings, two thematic events were also held: the Meeting of BRICS Women Parliamentarians and the Meeting of Chairpersons of the Committees on International Affairs of the Parliaments of the Member States. Washington, June 4, 2025 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the United States, Yerzhan Ashikbayev, spoke at a panel session dedicated to Central Asia’s potential in the critical minerals sector. The event took place as part of the U.S.–Central Asia Forum, organized by the American think tank Atlantic Council in partnership with Kazakhstan’s MIND research center.The session was opened by U.S. Senator Steve Daines, who emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation with the region, highlighting in particular Central Asia’s potential in critical minerals, energy, and agriculture. Kazakhstan–Greece Partnership in Shipping and Logistics Discussed in Athens 08.06.2025
Athens, June 6, 2025 — From June 4 to 6, 2025, a working visit of the leadership of Kazakhstan’s National Maritime Shipping Company “Kazmortransflot” to the Hellenic Republic took place. The visit was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Greece with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the maritime sector.The delegation included senior officials of Kazakhstan’s key maritime institutions, including the General Director of Kazmortransflot, Mr. Aidar Orzhanov. During the visit, the Kazakh delegation held meetings with the leadership of prominent Greek shipping companies and visited shipyards as well as port infrastructure sites.The discussions focused on exploring promising avenues of cooperation in shipbuilding, fleet technical maintenance, logistics, and the development of transport routes. Tourism potential of the Shalkar-Imantau zone 08.06.2025
The Imantau-Shalkar resort zone is the main tourist center of the region. There are 46 tourist facilities that can accommodate up to 3,962 tourists per day, including 3 children's health centers on Lake Aiyrtavchik: children's health center "Sokol", "Chaika" and health and educational center "Olimpiets". Of these, 9 recreation areas operate year-round: "Izumrudnoe", "Adel", "Dom u ozera", "Adam", "Imantau", "Kazygurt", "Solnechnoe Vip", "Turpan", "Zarya". There are many seasonal recreation centers on the shores of the Imantau and Shalkar lakes. Every year, recreation areas are improved and infrastructure is updated: facilities are modernized, the range of services is expanded, and the reception of tourists is prepared.To develop medical tourism, the reconstruction of the Shalkar Su sanatorium is ongoing, the readiness of which is 80%. The pilot launch is planned for 2025.The recreation centers offer saunas, lake houses, cafes and restaurants, water and sports equipment rentals, equipped beaches, picnic areas and cultural and entertainment events. There are cycling and hiking routes, campsites, gazebos, as well as 13 tourist routes along natural and cultural-historical sites. Hiking, horseback riding and cycling trails of varying lengths are offered, as well as excursions to the region's attractions.In the summer, sports festivals, animation programs and environmental events with the participation of tourists and local residents are held. The meeting focused on continuing the successful cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and the Clingendael Academy, which has hosted professional development courses for young Kazakh diplomats for the past 31 years.The high demand for the courses and the career advancement of their participants were noted with satisfaction. Kazakhstan and India Expand Investment Cooperation in Energy, Pharmaceuticals, and High Technologies 08.06.2025
New Delhi, June 6, 2025 – As part of his official visit to the Republic of India, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu held a series of meetings with representatives of leading Indian companies, including President for Business Development and Corporate Affairs at Tata Sons Private Limited Sucharita Choudhury, Executive Director of the pharmaceutical corporation MSN Group Nikhil Reddy, Chairman of the infrastructure holding Vishwa Samudra Group Sasidhar Chinta, and the leadership of the energy company Greenko Group.During the meeting with Choudhury, the Kazakh Minister highlighted the potential for cooperation in the fields of energy, automotive manufacturing, fintech, metallurgy, and information technology. He also presented a package of investment incentives available to foreign investors in Kazakhstan, including tax and customs benefits as well as infrastructure support. Discussions covered the localization of auto components, development of the metallurgy sector, eco-friendly transport, and digitalization through platforms such as Astana Hub and Digital Almaty. The Tata Group expressed interest in projects related to energy (including renewables), rare earth metal development, tourism, the steel and food industries, and automotive manufacturing.
