The population of the Abai region as of April 1, 2025 amounted to 601.4 thousand people, including urban – 374.4 thousand (62.3%), rural – 227.0 thousand (37.7%) people. Compared to the beginning of 2025, the population decreased by 1.4 thousand people or 0.2%.Natural population movementIn general, in the Abai region in January-March 2025, the natural population growth amounted to 684 people compared to January-March 2024 (972 people) decreased by 29.6%. The total natural growth rate per 1000 population was 4.62 people.According to the information contained in the civil status records submitted by the RAGS bodies, the number of births in January-March 2025 amounted to 1926 people, which is 17.0% less than in the corresponding period of 2024 (2320 people). The total fertility rate per 1000 people was 13.02 births.In the period under review, the number of deaths amounted to 1242 people, which is 7.9% less than in January- March 2024 (1348 people). The overall mortality rate was 8.40 deaths per 1000 people.In January- March 2025, 15 deceased infants under the age of 1 year were registered in the region and compared to the corresponding period of 2024 (21 deceased infants) decreased by 28,6%. The infant mortality rate was 7.79 cases per 1000 births.Population migrationAs a result of processing the information provided by the migration service authorities, in 1-quarter 2025, the number of arrivals in the region amounted to - 3199 people, the number of departures from the region – 5292 people. As a result of external and internal migrations, there was a decrease of -2093 people.The main external   migration exchange  takes place with the CIS  countries. Today, akim of the district Berik Sarmenbayev met with residents of Aidarli, Zhetykol and Amankeldy villages within the framework of reporting meetings. The meetings were attended by chairman of the district maslikhat Yerzhan Azhikenov, chairman of the District Public Council Marat Espenbetov, Deputies of the district maslikhat, heads of independent departments and institutions. During the meeting, the head of the district noted the work done and socio-economic achievements in the region. -With the direct support of the head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, 215 billion tenge was allocated in Kyzylorda. a new thermal power plant with a capacity of 240 megawatts is being built for the tenge. In order to avoid a shortage of electricity in the southern regions, during a recent business trip to Qatar, within the framework of an intergovernmental agreement, it was agreed to build a steam and gas plant with a capacity of 1100 MW and a cost of 800 billion tenge. New steam gas installations will be built on the territory of the Syrdarya district. Within the framework of the national project" comfortable school " it is planned to build 10 schools. To date, 6 educational institutions have been commissioned. 4 Schools will be handed over before the new academic year. "Within the framework of the national project ""modernization of healthcare in rural areas"", 28 facilities have been built, providing high – quality medical services to the population, " Berik Abdygapparovich said." Today, with the support of the head of the region Nurlybek Mashbekovich Nalibayev, large-scale projects are being implemented in the district. The population of the district is 100% provided with clean drinking water. 670 million in the last 3 years. in tenge, drinking water networks were updated in the villages of Terenozek, Shagan, Kogalykol, Amankeldy. The project of gasification of the settlements of Terenozek, Kalzhan akhun, Saken Seifullin, Askar Tokmagambetov and N. Ilyasov has been fully completed. In the district center, the cost is 1.5 billion rubles. the construction of the Rukhaniyat Center, which will be tenge, has been completed and put into operation for the benefit of the country. Sežana, May 14, 2025 - Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Slovenia Daniyar Sarekenov, together with the mayor of Sežana and representatives of the municipality, took part in a wreath-laying ceremony at the grave of the Kazakh hero Kasse Sebero (Kasym Zhakupov).The Kazakh soldier, a native of the North Kazakhstan region, who fought as part of a partisan detachment in Yugoslavia during World War II, was mortally wounded in battle in November 1943 and buried near the village of Povir.The memorial event was also attended by local residents, who united to honor the courage and self-sacrifice of the soldier who gave his life for the freedom of Slovenia.
