Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting on cooperation with the People's Republic of China. The issues of realization of investment projects were discussed, taking into account the agreements reached during the talks between the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of China Xi Jinping during the last visit. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at present 224 industrial projects worth $66.4 billion are being implemented in Kazakhstan with the participation of Chinese investors with the creation of about 50 thousand jobs. China is one of the five largest investors in the economy of Kazakhstan: from 2005 to 2024, the volume of investments amounted to $26.4 billion.Prime Minister emphasized that the recent visit of the President of China to Kazakhstan gave a serious impetus to cooperation. Also noted the importance of the Forum of Industrial and Investment Cooperation “Central Asia - China” held in Astana. On the margins of the forum, Kazakhstan and China signed 58 commercial agreements totaling about $24 billion."The Head of State has set a task to attract foreign investment of at least 150 billion dollars by 2029. In this context, full-scale cooperation with China - one of the leading economic powers and our key investment partner - is the most important priority for Kazakhstan. Therefore, systematic measures are needed to increase investment and launch new joint projects, especially in the production of non-resource and export-oriented products. The recent visit of the President of the People's Republic of China to Kazakhstan at the invitation of the Head of our state once again demonstrated the high level of political and economic cooperation between the two countries. I will personally keep under control and provide full assistance to each project being implemented," - instructed Olzhas Bektenov.Prime Minister emphasized the need to intensify work in those regions, where there are no new projects, including Abay region, East-Kazakhstan region, and West-Kazakhstan region. Olzhas Bektenov instructed the leadership of these regions to establish interaction with partners and present specific initiatives as soon as possible.Attention was paid to the implementation of the instruction to intensify visits of regional delegations to the provinces of China to build long-term partnerships and attract investment. Olzhas Bektenov noted the positive dynamics in a number of regions, such as Astana city, Almaty, Kyzylorda, Turkestan regions, which signed agreements and reached preliminary agreements during the visit of the PRC Chairman. The rest of the regions are instructed to build work in this direction.The meeting also considered the implementation of new agreements concluded by the regions with Chinese partners within the framework of the forum “Central Asia - China”. Thus, Almaty region signed 7 documents worth more than $6 billion, including projects in the field of “green” energy, logistics, agro-industrial complex and industry. Creation of a small industrial zone discussed in Balkhash 25.06.2025
On behalf of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, new growth points have begun to be formed in Balkhash. According to the Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, branches of RSE “Kazvodkhoz” organized water supply to agricultural producers. To date, 22.5 thousand contracts have been concluded, which is 3 thousand more than last year.During the discussion, attention was paid to the situation on the Shu, Talas and Syrdarya rivers, and to ensuring transparency in water distribution. To stimulate water conservation, differentiated subsidies for irrigation water have been introduced: farmers who use water-saving technologies receive higher subsidies than those who do not use such technologies. In parallel, measures are being taken to combat illegal water use and prevent water theft.Prime Minister noted that meeting the water needs of agrarians and meeting the needs of agriculture requires increased attention.-Transition to proactive water risk management with emphasis on efficiency, cost-effectiveness and interagency cooperation is necessary. Akims of the region should ensure coordination of actions of water supply organizations with farmers to provide them with irrigation water, observance of irrigation technologies, irrigation sequence and reuse of collector-drainage water. It is necessary to strengthen work on the introduction of water-saving technologies. I instruct establishing regional headquarters on water risk management for the growing season with participation of representatives of concerned government agencies and farmers' associations. It is important to strengthen control over misuse of water and intensify work on detection of violations, - emphasized Olzhas Bektenov.Akim of the region, Nurlybek Nalibayev, reported on the situation in the region at the meeting. He, particularly, noted that this year in the region, agricultural crops are placed on 189.4 thousand hectares. According to the Roadmap approved by the Government, this year compared to last year, the sown area under rice was reduced by 4.7 thousand hectares. The areas of less water-loving fodder and oil seed crops were increased.-The limit for irrigation of crops in the amount of 3.9 million cubic meters of water was approved. Sowing works have been completed in the region; rice has been placed on 80.9 thousand hectares, fully flooded. To effectively use irrigation water, a number of measures have been taken with relevant ministries,"- N. Nalibayev said.As of today, the area of laser leveled rice checks has grown to 60 thousand hectares, and with the application of water-saving technologies it has doubled to 8.1 thousand hectares.Special working groups have been established in all districts to carry out explanation work, and efficient water use is under special control. The schedule of alternate water supply through main and inter-farm canals has been approved. In the region, 357 pumping units have been prepared; 180 of them have been launched. Last year, with support from the Government, there was no irrigation water deficit in the region. Meanwhile, at the meeting, Akim of the region asked for assistance in releasing at least 1.5 billion cubic meters of water from the Shardara reservoir. Istanbul, June 21, 2025 – Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu participated in the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.During the meeting, the heads of delegations discussed measures to resolve various politico-military and humanitarian crises in the OIC area, calling for a speedy resolution of the Iran-Israeli armed conflict and an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.The agenda of the forum, held under the slogan “OIC in a Changing World”, also included issues related to further reforming the Organization, strengthening multifaceted cooperation between the participating countries, the situation of Muslim minorities in the world, disarmament and Islamophobia.In his speech, the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan emphasized the importance of de-escalation of the situation around Iran and called for the opening of humanitarian corridors for the delivery of food and medicine to the Gaza Strip.“Kazakhstan reaffirms its firm support for the efforts of the international community to stabilize the situation and ensure security in the region and reiterates its call for an immediate ceasefire and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza,” Minister Nurtleu said.In addition, the Kazakh Foreign Minister voiced a number of proposals aimed at strengthening the role of the OIC in the international arena, and expressed the readiness of Kazakhstan to contribute to this process.During the 51st session of the Ministerial Council, more than 100 resolutions will be considered and adopted in various areas, including political, economic, legal, humanitarian, administrative and financial issues. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is an important partner for Kazakhstan. Вице-министр цифрового развития, инноваций и аэрокосмической промышленности РК Досжан Мусалиев принял участие на четвертом совещании руководителей министерств и ведомств государств-членов ШОС, ответственных за развитие информационно-коммуникационных технологий (ИКТ). Мероприятие прошло 17 июня в городе Карамай, Синьцзян-Уйгурского автономного района КНР.На совещании приняли участие главы министерств, курирующих развитие ИКТ, из Китая, Кыргызстана, Узбекистана, Таджикистана, Казахстана, Беларуси, России, Пакистана, а также представители стран-наблюдателей ШОС — Турции и Азербайджана.Участники обменялись передовым опытом в сфере ИКТ, успешными кейсами цифровизации экономики государств ШОС, обсудили вызовы и перспективы цифрового развития, а также планы по внедрению новых технологий.Особое внимание было уделено проблеме «цифрового разрыва» между странами и социальными группами. For the last three years, in the region, 441 billion tenge was allocated for the development of medicine. Within the framework of the state program “Modernization of rural health care” initiated by the President of the country, 28 facilities have been put into operation. In addition, additional buildings have been erected to the central multidisciplinary hospitals of four district centers. In the regional center, a 300-bed multidisciplinary hospital with an oncology department and a polyclinic is under construction. Over the last three years, 24 health care facilities have been overhauled. Medical institutions in rural areas are fully equipped with ambulances.At the recent international scientific-practical conference held in Kyzylorda, it was announced about the construction of a residential building for 100 apartments for medical workers, which indicates the social support of specialists, including will contribute to attracting the necessary personnel to the region. The new house will be built by the end of this year.Special attention is paid to the professional development of specialists. Thus, last year 15 doctors were trained in Turkey; this year 41 specialists have improved their qualifications in the best clinics in Germany, Lithuania, Belarus and Russia.Meanwhile, extrabudgetary funds have recently been attracted to the health care of the region. Thus, the public fund “Kazakhstan Halkyna” has allocated more than four billion tenge for the implementation of projects in the field of medicine for two years. Rehabilitation centers “Kamkorlyk” on the basis of the regional children's hospital, in Zhanakorgan district were opened at the expense of these funds. In the near future, such a center will be opened in the Aralsk district. Also at the expense of the fund were purchased medicines for the treatment of rare diseases; the regional oncology center was provided with a mobile medical complex for screening. Such complexes operate today only in three regions of the country.The ceremony of awarding the best representatives of health care of the region took place within the framework of the celebration. The order “Kurmet” was awarded to surgeon, consultant doctor of the city multiprofile hospital Yuri Fotiadi, the medal “Shapagat” - the head of the department of the State Institution “Kazleprozorium” Anarkul Nurgalieva, the honorary title “Honored Doctor of Kazakhstan” was awarded to the veteran of the sphere Asylbek Togyzbaev.
