On June 17, 2026, a meeting of the East Kazakhstan Regional Akimat reviewed the implementation of investment projects and the attraction of investments into the regional economy.At the end of 2025, the volume of investments in fixed capital amounted to KZT 838 billion, which is 5% higher than the previous year. In the first four months of 2026, this figure reached KZT 202.0 billion, with the physical volume index amounting to 109%.The gross inflow of foreign direct investment in 2025 amounted to USD 1,750.8 million, which is three times higher than the 2024 figure. According to this indicator, East Kazakhstan Region ranks 5th among the regions of Kazakhstan.The region’s investment portfolio includes 100 projects worth KZT 1.5 trillion, creating more than 10 thousand jobs. On June 16, 2026, the Tourism Department, under the chairmanship of East Kazakhstan Region Akim Nurymbet Saktaganov, held a meeting on the development of the region’s tourism industry.During the meeting, current issues related to tourism development, improving the quality of tourism services, and creating new attractions for visitors to the region were discussed.Particular attention was paid to the development of cultural tourism. Ljubljana, 16 June 2026 – A series of cultural events featuring the Kazakh ethno-folklore and dance ensembles Qagan and Yassy took place in the Slovenian capital. The events were organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Slovenia with the support of the Akimat of Shymkent and Slovenian partners.One of the highlights of the early summer cultural season was an impromptu concert held in Ljubljana’s central square, marking the first performance by artistic groups from Kazakhstan since the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Slovenia. The melodic sounds of the dombra, qobyz, dauylpaz and other traditional instruments, together with authentic musical compositions and colorful national costumes, offered residents and visitors a unique opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage of the Kazakh people. The concert attracted significant interest from the Slovenian public, international tourists, and members of the Kazakh diaspora, becoming for many their first introduction to Kazakhstan’s musical traditions and culture.On the same day, the historic architectural complex Križanke hosted the traditional international charity event Midsummer Night (Kresna noč), organized by Lions Club Ljubljana Iliria with the support of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Slovenia. Today, Regional Akim Murat Ergeshbayev visited several sites in the city. Karatas Mining is implementing the project, Geopsd kzo is supervising the project, and Orda-S is providing technical supervision. 2.996 billion tenge has been allocated for this project. A two-lane pedestrian and bicycle path, 2,756 meters long, with an asphalt concrete surface will be built. Additionally, the slope of the protective dam, 2,928 meters long, will be reinforced. This will protect the riverbank from flooding and erosion. Budapest, June 16, 2026 – A concert titled «Kazakhstan – The Voice of the Great Steppe» was held in the Hungarian capital to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the legendary «Aksak Kulan» kuy. The cultural evening introduced Hungarian audiences to the rich heritage of Kazakh music and dance.The concert was held at the historic Pesti Vigadó concert hall, built in the 19th century and holding a special place in Hungary's cultural life. Situated on the banks of the Danube, this architectural gem is considered one of the most prestigious venues for international cultural events.The program featured performances by the «Akzharma» Folk Ensemble and the «Zhorga» Dance Ensemble of the Mangystau Regional Philharmonic named after Murat Oskinbayev. Debrecen, June 9, 2026 – A friendly football match between the national teams of Kazakhstan and Hungary took place in Debrecen, ending with a 3–1 victory for the Hungarian team.Prior to the match, a cultural program was organized for Kazakh supporters, featuring performances by the Hungarian “Hajdú” dance ensemble. The program included the well-known Kazakh folk dance “Bürkit” alongside traditional Hungarian folk dances of similar spirit and expression. These performances became a symbol of friendship and cultural exchange between the peoples of Kazakhstan and Hungary.The match itself was played in a friendly atmosphere and attracted significant interest from fans of both countries. The Head of State signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Anti-Corruption Issues" dated June 12, 2026, No. 311-VIII. One of the key innovations of the Law will be the introduction of criminal liability not only for receiving and giving a bribe, but also for promising, offering, or demanding a bribe. The amendments also introduce a comprehensive mechanism for preventing conflicts of interest. Civil servants and persons equated to them are prohibited from using their official powers for personal interests. Furthermore, an obligation to declare personal interests is established, and the procedure of action in the event of a conflict of interest is defined. The Law strengthens restrictions on the joint service of relatives and connected persons. The restrictions will apply not only to direct subordination but also to cases of indirect influence, internal control, and HR support. In particular, close relatives of a head, including nephews/nieces, brothers-in-law, and sons-in-law, will be prohibited from working within the same agency. The circle of persons subject to anti-corruption restrictions is also being expanded. It will include employees of the quasi-public sector, as well as participants in projects funded by the budget and the National Fund. A separate provision solidifies the operation of the "E-kyzmet" digital HR system, which provides for the transition of HR processes in government agencies and the quasi-public sector into a single digital format. Additionally, liability for receiving unlawful remuneration in state organizations and the quasi-public sector is tightened, the administrative liability of legal entities for corruption offenses is increased, and the statute of limitations for administrative corruption offenses for individuals is extended from one year to three years. Aside from this, restrictions for individuals who have committed corruption crimes are clarified.
