New Wave of Phishing: Your iPhones Are Being Stolen Online 21.11.2025
The Center for Forecasting Criminal Threats and Public Security Risks of the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Accounting of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan warns of the threat of online fraud against iPhone owners.According to foreign sources (https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/lost-iphone-dont-fall-for-phishing-texts-saying-it-was-found/, https://itc.ua/news/moshennyky-obmanyvayut-vladeltsev-ukradennyh-iphone-falshyvymy-soobshhenyyamy-apple-find-my/), attackers are sending fake SMS or iMessage messages claiming to be Apple with an attached phishing link, stating the model, color, and memory capacity of the supposedly found iPhone, thereby creating the impression that the notification is genuine.By clicking the pinned link, the user is redirected to a fake page, visually identical to Apple's Find My service, which transmits the user's Apple ID login and password to scammers. This allows attackers to bypass the iPhone's activation lock and gain access to the device and personal information.Given that this type of threat is rapidly spreading, we strongly recommend:- Avoid clicking suspicious links;- Use a separate email address if you want to display contact information on the lost device's lock screen;- Protect the SIM card with a PIN to make it more difficult to access;- Check the device only through icloud.com/find.Remain vigilant and maintain cybersecurity. Center for Forecasting Criminal Threats and Public Security Risks of the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Accounting of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of KazakhstanSource : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/kostanai-bmalin-audany-akimat/press/news/details/1111412?lang=kk

Archaeologists may have uncovered a Bronze Age metropolis in Kazakhstan’s steppe 21.11.2025
Upon the open grasslands of what is now Kazakhstan, there once stood a Bronze Age settlement that may have served as a center of exchange and power around 1600 BC.The settlement — called Semiyarka and nicknamed “The City of Seven Ravines” for its location overlooking a network of valleys — was first discovered in the early 2000s, but it wasn’t until an international group of archaeologists surveyed the area starting in 2018 that its impressive size and potential importance within the Eurasian Steppe came to light. What the team discovered was an expansive area that was once replete with houses, a central monumental building, which may have been used for rituals or governance, and possibly even tin bronze metal production facilities.Their findings, published Monday in the journal Antiquity, are just the beginning, the study authors said.“It’s very exciting, because it’s such a rare find to have tin bronze production in this area,” said lead author Miljana Radivojević, an associate professor in archaeological science at University College London, UK. “We know we have hundreds of thousands of tin bronze artifacts from the Bronze Age in the Eurasian steppe and we have only one published site on tin bronze production. And this is the second one.” Tin bronze allowed for sturdier tools and other materials to be made, Radivojević added. As the team now embarks on excavating the area, they say the continued discoveries of Semiyarka are transforming what we know about urban life in prehistoric Eurasia.“We just don’t have anything like this at all,” said study coauthor Dan Lawrence, a professor of archaeology at Durham University in the UK. There are hardly settlements of any kind recovered in the steppe, he added. “What you get across this landscape, we associate with mobile pastoral groups, and we think maybe they were in tents or yurts. What we’ve got here is something that’s very clearly quite different.”Spanning 140 hectares (about 346 acres) above the Irtysh River valley, the large size and strategic location of the settlement may indicate that the Bronze Age steppe had sophisticated cities similar to those located in more urban areas of the world at the time, Lawrence added.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/mfa-geneva/press/news/details/1109898?lang=kk

Kazakhstan Advances Green Corridor Reforms to Boost Transit Efficiency 21.11.2025
Kazakhstan outlined steps to implement the Green Corridor system and strengthen its role as a key Eurasian transit hub during a Nov. 18 meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin.Kazakhstan is moving forward with a comprehensive package of measures to streamline customs, modernize border infrastructure, and digitalize logistics processes. The Green Corridor initiative aims to reduce border delays and improve the efficiency of transit cargo moving across the country.Kazakhstan currently hosts five major international rail corridors linking China, Europe, Russia, Central Asia, and Iran. Transit volumes rose from 21.8 million tons in 2020 to 27.4 million tons in 2024, with forecasts reaching up to 100 million tons by 2035, reported the Prime Minister’s press service.A key task discussed at the meeting was reducing customs inspections that require wagon uncoupling, which disrupts train integrity and increases delays. The Finance Ministry is expanding digital customs tools, including the KEDEN information system, electronic queuing, and automated issuance of foreign permits at borders with China and Uzbekistan. More than 2.7 million bookings and 160,000 electronic permits have been issued.Integrated vehicle control systems and new logistics centers on the borders with China and Uzbekistan have increased the throughput capacity of checkpoints and reduced truck crossing times to as little as 30 minutes.A pilot project with the national railway operator automated the issuance of transit declarations on the China-Kazakhstan-Central Asia route, reducing processing time for container trains from three hours to 30 minutes. Expansion to China-Europe routes is underway.Kazakhstan is also preparing a multilateral seamless transit agreement with Central Asian and South Caucasus countries, expected to be finalized with Uzbekistan in 2026, with potential future participation from China. The meeting also reviewed progress in upgrading border checkpoints, modernizing rail stations, and renewing Kazakhstan’s wagon fleet, which now totals 145,700 units. Air cargo capacity continues to grow, with airports handling 29.7 million passengers and 171,000 tons of freight in 2024.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/mfa-geneva/press/news/details/1109908?lang=kk

How the Abay region is combating rising food prices: real violations and fines 21.11.2025
In the Abay region, intensive efforts to identify unjustified price increases on socially important food products are ongoing. Monitoring groups are documenting cases of entrepreneurs artificially inflating prices, violating legal requirements and misleading consumers.Recent inspections have once again confirmed instances of unjustified markups. In Semey, an individual entrepreneur purchased Barskie salt for 108 tenge per kilogram but sold it for 150 tenge. This difference resulted in a markup of 39 percent, more than twice the established norm.Another case was uncovered at one of the city's social pavilions. There, buckwheat was purchased for 175 tenge and Akmarzhan rice for 350 tenge per kilogram. They were sold for 220 and 440 tenge, respectively. The trade markup was 25.8 percent, a direct violation of the law. Following an inspection, the entrepreneurs were fined. In the city of Kurchatov, Department specialists discovered a repeat violation. An entrepreneur purchased Barakat rice for 480 tenge and sold it for 580 tenge per kilogram, allowing for a 20.9 percent markup. A fine of 19,660 tenge was imposed for the violation. The Department also reminds that every retailer is obligated to ensure accurate and up-to-date price tags on store shelves. Violations of these requirements are regularly recorded. Since the beginning of the year, 17 administrative fines have been issued for missing price tags, incorrectly indicating prices, or indicating prices in currencies other than tenge. The total fines amounted to 480,000 tenge.Monitoring is not limited to retail outlets. Electronic invoices are also being analyzed in conjunction with the State Revenue Committee. This mechanism allows for tracking the movement of socially important goods, identifying unnecessary intermediaries and unjustified price increases.Containing prices for essential goods is a priority of state policy. According to Article 9 of the Law "On the Regulation of Trade Activities," the trade markup on socially important food products must not exceed 15 percent. Violations are punishable by administrative penalties under Article 204-4 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan. For small businesses, the fine is 5 MCI, for medium-sized businesses 35 MCI, and for large businesses 150 MCI. For repeat violations, the fine doubles.Since the beginning of the year, the Department of Trade and Consumer Protection of Abay Region has issued 119 administrative decisions totaling 856,000 tenge for exceeding the trade markup by 15 percent. Monitoring efforts will continue to ensure the availability of essential goods and protect the rights of residents of the region.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/mti/press/news/details/1109737?lang=kk

A New Profession for Soldiers: The National Guard Launches a UAV Operator Training Course 21.11.2025
As part of the current conscription campaign, the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan is taking an important step in the training of conscripted soldiers. A new training discipline — unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operator training — has now been added to the combat training program. This will allow conscripts to acquire modern military-applied skills and master a highly demanded specialty.Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs – Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard, Major General Ansagan Baltabayev, visited the newly equipped UAV operator training classroom in the 5573 military unit in the capital and assessed its capabilities. The modern training room is fully adapted for the instruction of conscripts: here they study the fundamentals of drone structure, flight control rules, technical maintenance, and elements of tactical deployment. The course is designed to train a full combat UAV crew, which includes a crew commander, FPV drone operator, munitions specialist, and reconnaissance operator. The training process is structured so that each servicemember first masters the skills of their specific specialization, and afterward participates in group exercises that are as close to real operational conditions as possible.“Today, the training of UAV operators is reaching a new qualitative level. A complete environment for practical instruction has been created here, and this is precisely the systematic approach we need,” emphasized Major General Ansagan Baltabayev.Following the visit, the Commander-in-Chief outlined further tasks: strengthening the material and technical base, establishing an in-house repair workshop, developing a unified specialist training program, and designing an all-season training facility. The training classroom has been recommended as a model for establishing similar centers in other military units where drone operator subdivisions are being formed. The creation of such a training environment is a significant step toward enhancing the combat readiness of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and advancing modern directions in the preparation of servicemembers. Press Service of the National GuardMinistry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of KazakhstanSource : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/kvv/press/news/details/1109635?lang=kk
