Washington, D.C., May 2, 2026 – The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the United States took part in the annual Passport DC festival, opening its doors to more than 5300 visitors and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Kazakhstan.Kazakhstan was among over 70 countries presenting their cultures in the U.S. capital as part of the festival dedicated to the international cultural diversity of Washington’s diplomatic community.As part of the program, guests were introduced to elements of traditional Kazakh culture. An authentic yurt, designed in accordance with the principles of nomadic architecture, was installed on the Embassy grounds. Visitors were welcomed by dombra performers in traditional attire, performing classical kyuis. The cultural program was further enriched by dance performances and folk songs, which generated significant interest among the American public.Special attention was given to traditional Kazakh customs. The Embassy presented elements of Tusau Kesu – a symbolic ceremony associated with a child’s first steps, intended to wish a prosperous and successful life journey. Washington, D.C., May 3, 2026 – Kazakhstan became the first country among Central Asian and South Caucasus states to organize an investment roundtable titled “Strategic Sectors and U.S. Market Entry Opportunities” at one of the U.S. Government’s premier investment forums, the SelectUSA Investment Summit.The event’s central focus was on promoting opportunities for Kazakhstan’s companies to enter the U.S. market and on attracting investment into the American economy. Ahead of the 81st Anniversary of Victory Day, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan allocated more than 3.3 billion tenge in one-time payments for approximately 32,900 citizens, including WWII veterans, home front workers, widows of fallen servicemen, and persons with war-related disabilities.Currently, 57 veterans of the Great Patriotic War reside in Kazakhstan. Struga, April 30, 2026 – The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to North Macedonia, Satybaldy Burshakov, paid a visit to the city of Struga.During a meeting with the Mayor of the city, Mendi Qyra, the parties discussed opportunities for developing cooperation, with a particular focus on cultural exchange and tourism development.The Ambassador of Kazakhstan also expressed readiness to establish trade and economic cooperation as well as sister-city relations between the regions of the two countries.
