During a staff meeting chaired by Akim of Aktobe region Askhat Shakharov, the issue of winter maintenance of roads was considered.Aibol Danagul, director of the Aktobe regional branch of JSC NC KazAvtoZhol, said that the length of highways of national importance is 1,869 km, of which 117 km are undergoing reconstruction. Blue Midas Stroy and Assana-DorStroy LLP are responsible for winter maintenance of the Aktobe-Astrakhan and Samara-Shymkent roads. Temporary wooden shields will be placed on the remaining sections and snow removal works will be carried out."Given the high traffic intensity on the Aktobe-Khromtau-Karabutak section, 34 km of bypass roads are being prepared in the villages of Khromtau and Karabutak to prevent traffic jams in winter. A 23-km-long bypass road with three exits to the highway is provided on the 844-863 km section of the Samara-Shymkent highway.
