Taza Kazakhstan: areas most prone to flooding have been eliminated in Almaty 27.11.2024
A large-scale modernization of the irrigation ditch network is underway in Almaty, aimed at preventing flooding and improving sanitation in the city. These works are carried out within the framework of the republican program "Taza Kazakhstan" and the city campaign "Almaty is our common home".This year, at the initiative of Akim Yerbolat Dosayev, work has been completed in various parts of the city: 7.4 km of irrigation ditches on 15 streets have been reconstructed in the eastern part of Almaty, irrigation ditches and storm sewers with a length of 30.1 km have been updated in the central part on 67 streets, 20.5 km of irrigation ditches have been built in the western part (Alatau, Nauryzbai and Auezov districts). The measures are aimed at improving the hydrological situation, especially in areas with a high risk of flooding. The residents of the city express their gratitude for the work done."We are very glad that the problem with flooding on Polezhaev Street has finally been solved. Previously, in heavy rains, the water rose to the level of the sidewalks and flooded our yards, which created huge inconveniences. But after the work has been done, the water no longer stands on the roads, and we can safely move around even in rainy weather. Thank you to everyone who took part in this important matter!", - thanks a resident of the district Galina."Flooding at the intersection of Makataev and Zhumaliev streets was a real headache for all local residents. In heavy rains, water not only flooded roads, but also got into the basements of houses, creating serious problems. I am very glad that this situation has now been changed - after the work done, the water no longer stagnates. Now we can safely walk and move along the street without fear that it will rain and flood everything again," shares Yerlan, a resident of Zhumalieva Street.Recall that in Almaty, on the eve of the winter period, within the framework of the republican program "Taza Kazakhstan" and the city campaign "Almaty is our common home", a large–scale cleaning of the street and road network, public places, riverbeds, street urns and a ditch network is being carried out.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/almaty/press/news/details/890994

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE CENTRAL LIBRARY OF ALMATY: UNIQUE OLIF OPERATIONS IN NEUROSURGERY 26.11.2024
The first operations using the OLIF (Oblique Lumbar Interbody Fusion) technique were performed for the first time in the Central City Clinical Hospital of Almaty. This innovative minimally invasive approach has opened up new possibilities in the treatment of spinal diseases.OLIF, or "oblique lumbar interbody fixation", is used to restore intervertebral discs and stabilize the spine in the following pathologies: degenerative spinal changes, herniated intervertebral discs, spondylolisthesis, scoliosis and kyphosis. The technique allows to significantly reduce the traumatic nature of the intervention, accelerate the recovery process and minimize the rehabilitation period. The operations were performed by leading neurosurgeons of Kazakhstan: Talgat Kerimbayev, Head of the Spinal Neurosurgery Department of the National Scientific Center of Neurosurgery (NCNH), Chief Spinal Neurosurgeon of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Marat Almatov, Head of the Neurosurgery Department of the Central City Clinical Hospital of Almaty."OLIF allows operations to be performed through a small incision, preserving muscles and ligaments. This significantly reduces blood loss, reduces the risk of complications and allows the patient to activate the next day. For example, as part of the master class, we performed intervertebral disc replacement operations in patients with lumbar instability at L4-L5 levels. The installed implants not only stabilize the spine, but also provide a physiologically correct position. Such methods help patients to return to their usual life faster," Talgat Kerimbayev noted. In addition, three operations were performed to remove spinal cord tumors using an operating microscope and special equipment. The Central City Clinical Hospital of Almaty continues to develop high-tech medical care, making it accessible to residents of Almaty and other regions of Kazakhstan.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/dsm/press/news/details/890786
