Between Sound and Emptiness: Kazakh Composer Unveils the Secrets of Quantum Music in Leiden 12.12.2025
On 10 December 2025, the City Concert Hall of Leiden (Eel Market Hall) hosted a piano evening featuring the outstanding Kazakh composer, pianist, and researcher Rakhat-Bi Abdyssagin. The concert was organized with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of the Netherlands and with the participation of representatives of the Kazakh diaspora, marking an important step in promoting contemporary Kazakh culture in Europe.Rakhat-Bi Abdyssagin is one of the most remarkable and bold representatives of a new generation of musicians, the author of two “quantum symphonies,” a number of innovative works, and the book Quantum Mechanics and Avant-Garde Music: Shadows of the Void. His artistic vision intertwines music, mathematics, and physics: he explores the connections between quantum mechanics and avant-garde composition, creating works inspired by the principles of the many-worlds interpretation, uncertainty, and quantum interactions. Abdyssagin’s scientific approach harks back to the ancient tradition in which music was considered a branch of mathematics, and musical harmony was understood as rigorously as a mathematical formula. The concert program spanned three centuries of musical evolution, reinterpreted through the lens of social transformation and the aesthetic searches of different eras. The evening concluded with one of Abdyssagin’s early compositions, dedicated to the themes of peace and humanism–a musical message to humanity conveyed through the image of birds forced into eternal migration as a consequence of human conflict. The concert became a notable cultural event and preceded Rakhat-Bi Abdyssagin’s participation in the international conference “100 Years of Spin,” dedicated to the centennial of the discovery of spin in quantum mechanics. At the symposium, the composer presented his research on the relationship between avant-garde music and modern physics, continuing a dialogue between art and science that once inspired Einstein, Planck, and Heisenberg. The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan expresses its gratitude to Leiden University, the City Concert Hall, programme partners, and representatives of the Kazakh diaspora for their support. The concert by Rakhat-Bi Abdyssagin vividly demonstrated how contemporary Kazakh art resonates within the international academic and musical community, shaping the image of Kazakhstan as a country where creativity and science evolve in close interconnection. Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/mfa-hague/press/news/details/1124117?lang=kk

Combating corruption in government bodies: a priority task for a just society 11.12.2025
Corruption remains a key problem hindering societal development, undermining citizens' trust in government institutions, and negatively impacting the economy. Combating this phenomenon is not simply a matter of course, but a strategic necessity for building a just state. In Kurchatov, we strictly adhere to a zero-tolerance policy toward any manifestations of corruption. Government agencies must demonstrate absolute transparency, honesty, and accountability to citizens. In this regard, the Akimat is implementing modern anti-corruption mechanisms, including the digitalization of government services and strengthening oversight.Digitalization is one effective way to combat corruption. The introduction of electronic government services minimizes the human factor, reduces bureaucratic barriers, and reduces the potential for corruption. Online services, ensuring the prompt and transparent provision of government services, are already being actively used in Kurchatov. An important area is creating conditions for direct dialogue between the government and the public. Regular reporting to citizens, public hearings, and citizen receptions allow residents to directly receive clarification on pressing issues. We believe that the higher the level of trust between society and the state, the fewer opportunities for corruption. One of the key aspects of the fight against corruption is cultivating a high level of legal awareness among civil servants. In this regard, the city of Kurchatov regularly conducts training seminars, professional development courses, and workshops on ethics and legality. Every government employee must understand their responsibility to society. An effective fight against corruption is impossible without the active participation of citizens. We urge city residents to be vigilant, report potential cases of corruption, and participate in fostering an anti-corruption culture in society.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/abay-kurchatov/press/news/details/1124024?lang=kk

The new platform is designed to connect education, science, industry, and entrepreneurship. The university aims not merely to introduce technologies, but to shape a new approach in which artificial intelligence serves society, the economy, and the development of cities. At AlmaU, this evolves into the concept of «Tolyq AI», derived from the philosophy of Abai’s «Tolyq Adam» – an artificial intelligence model developed under the guidance of ethics, humanity, and social purpose.«Artificial intelligence is a powerful engine, but not a compass. The direction is still set by humans. We are not afraid that artificial intelligence will replace people. We are afraid of people who work like robots. AlmaU trains creators, not executors», noted AlmaU’s founder and president Assylbek Kozhakhmetov in his opening remarks. The first task of the new Center is to update education and strengthen the university’s research capacity. AI platforms Oqulabs and Delicatest, developed by Professors Timur Bakibayev and Kuan ysh Abeshev, have already been integrated into AlmaU’s academic programs. These platforms automate the assessment of complex assignments, analyze student behavior to detect dishonesty, and provide objective performance analytics. The research foundation of the Center has been formed within targeted and grant-funded projects, including programs on technological diversification and digital transformation of the agricultural sector. Through these projects, AlmaU Labs has been equipped with two mini-supercomputers provided by ASUS and ZERDE Business Solutions. The second key objective is collaboration with the public sector and addressing the needs of the real economy. The first pilot project is being implemented with JSC «Kostanay Minerals». The team developed an AI model for predicting ore moisture levels, which has shown significant economic impact during testing and demonstrated strong potential for production process optimization. AlmaU Labs is also ready to develop solutions for transport, environmental protection, urban safety, and resource management.«This center has tremendous potential for developing practical solutions for Almaty. Next year, together with AlmaU, we plan to create several successful products to improve the urban environment, with a focus on fostering AI-driven startups», stated Olzhas Zhanabek, Head of the Digitalization Department of the city of Almaty. The third area of focus is entrepreneurship development. Students from across Kazakhstan will be able to create their own AI products, participate in startup competitions, take part in acceleration programs, access partner data and funding, and implement their solutions in companies and public institutions. As part of the opening ceremony, AlmaU signed memorandums of cooperation with Almaty HUB, the Almaty City Akimat, Teachers Lab, and Tech People Community. The event also featured a panel discussion on the future of artificial intelligence in education, «AI in Education».
