Ypres, Belgium, 26 September 2025 – On the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons, established by the UN General Assembly, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Belgium Roman Vassilenko visited the city of Ypres (Flanders region), the twin city of Kazakhstan’s Semey.The highlight of the visit was the laying of a wreath together with Ypres Mayor Katrien Desomer at the monument to the victims of nuclear tests and man-made disasters, donated by Kazakhstan to Ypres in 2010. The fleet of the law enforcement troops has been replenished with new service vehicles. Drivers of the National Guard, having received their brand-new cars, decided to demonstrate their skills in an unusual way — on the parade ground they performed a real “autumn waltz” with the vehicles, impressing the audience.A solemn ceremony of handing over service vehicles to the troops of the capital’s operational unit of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place in Astana.
