MEASURES TO IMPROVE PUBLIC TRANSPORT SERVICES ARE BEING IMPLEMENTED IN SHYMKENT CITY 15.10.2025
Today, at a briefing held at the information platform of the Regional Communications Service of Shymkent, the official representative of the Shymkent city akimat, deputy city akim - Sarsen Abayuly Kuranbek, made the following statement: Recently, various complaints about public transport in Shymkent have been circulating on social media. In particular, a video of a bus on route No. 52 being overcrowded with students has attracted a lot of attention. The city administration and responsible institutions did not ignore the problem and took appropriate measures. Currently, bus route No. 52 operates with 18 buses on weekdays at 10–15 minute intervals, and with 16 buses on weekends and holidays at 15–20 minute intervals. Taking into account numerous requests and complaints from residents, the route's traffic pattern has been revised. The route, which previously ran in a roundabout direction and ended at the "TsUM" stop on Kunayev Street, has now been extended to T. Aibergenov Street. This change has allowed passengers to reach their destination more conveniently and reduce the need to change buses. In addition, additional information on the issue raised in the video: today there are about 300,000 students in the city, but only 30,647 of them have issued a travel card. The remaining students use public transport without a card, which affects the reduction in the number of actual transactions and limits the possibility of increasing the number of buses on the route in accordance with the legislation. In some cases, students have a card but do not register using a validator. Such actions hinder effective planning of public transport traffic and accurate determination of passenger flow. In this regard, residents and parents are advised to promptly issue their children's travel cards and ensure that they register with the validator on each trip. This is an important step that will improve the quality of the route and contribute to the launch of additional buses. It is worth noting that today it is possible to apply for a student travel card online. Now there is no need to go to a special place - it is enough to enter the student's data and submit an application through the website jenil.avtobys.kz . The entire process is free of charge. A physical version of the card is not required, and travel payment is made using a QR code through a mobile application on the phone. Thus, the updated traffic plan for route No. 52 and the widespread use of the electronic map system will facilitate the convenient and efficient use of public transport by Shymkent residents.
WORK ON THE EXPANSION OF THE NEW ECOLOGICAL RECREATION AREA AND THE GREEN BELT HAS GAINED IMPACT 15.10.2025
In order to improve the environmental situation and create a comfortable living environment for residents, large-scale landscaping and landscaping projects are being implemented in the city of Shymkent. In 2025, the construction of a new park "Ecopark" began in the Abay district, replacing the former landfill. This project will increase the ecological culture of the metropolis and provide residents with a modern space for recreation and sports. During the construction, landscaping of the park area is also actively underway. As part of the sponsorship, the Dani Nan company has undertaken to plant 5,000 tree seedlings (mountain ash, oak, catalpa, ash, maple, bird cherry, poplar, linden) in the park. The height of each tree ranges from 3 to 7 meters. In addition, with the sponsorship of BI GROUP LLP, it is planned to dig 9 water wells and install an automatic irrigation system on 13 hectares of land. With the support of DALA FRUIT LLP, 1,800 fruit trees will be planted and ornamental plants will be planted on an area of 1,215 m². A drip irrigation system will also be installed on 8 hectares of land. The Urban Environment Development Department is also systematically landscaping the city streets. In 2025, lawn and irrigation system renovation work was carried out on 27 main streets with a length of 54.2 kilometers (total area 500 thousand m²). 32 water wells were commissioned on the main streets to provide water for the landscaping areas. During the spring planting season, 3,000 tree seedlings (gujum, plane, tulip trees) will be planted on the main streets of newly built microdistricts, and another 2,600 seedlings 2.5–7 meters tall will be planted in the fall season. In order to beautify the city's streets and enhance the beauty of flower beds, more than 22,000 perennial flowers (lavender, juniper, anabel, spirea, roses) are being planted within the framework of a public-private partnership. In addition, a greenhouse with a total area of 1 hectare was rented on the basis of sponsorship support, where work on growing flower seedlings began. This initiative will allow for the high-quality and timely implementation of more than 1.6 million flower plantings on city streets by 2026. The large-scale project is aimed not only at improving the beauty of the city of Shymkent, but also at saving budget funds and ensuring environmental sustainability. Shymkent is taking firm steps towards becoming a modern city with developed greenery and ecological culture, striving to create a comfortable environment for its residents.
MEASURES TO PREVENT FRAUD AND TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS HAVE BEEN STRENGTHENED IN SHYMKENT 15.10.2025
Last week, 176 criminal cases were registered in the investigation bodies of Shymkent, four of which were sent to court. The most frequently registered crimes were fraud (62 cases), theft (41 cases) and drug trafficking (9 cases). In addition, 8 cases were opened in connection with traffic accidents. The main types of fraud are committed via the Internet. For example, among the 37 registered Internet frauds: • fraud committed through product advertisements on social networks (16 cases), • misappropriation of citizens' funds through investment advertisements (4 cases), • making fake calls pretending to be a bank employee or a civil servant (12 cases), • There were cases of fraudulent loans (4 cases). For example, a city resident named "C" ordered an iPhone 17 via Instagram and transferred 820,000 tenge to an unknown person. A criminal case is currently being investigated on this fact. The competent authorities urge city residents to be extremely careful when purchasing goods online, not to trust dubious advertisements, and to only contact official stores. There has also been an increase in crimes related to online drug stores recently. For example, a citizen temporarily lent his bank card to an acquaintance. However, the card was used in drug sales, and as a result, the owner was held legally liable. In this regard, residents should not give their bank cards to strangers and refuse suspicious money transfers. If you notice a suspicious situation, you are advised to immediately call 102. There has also been an increase in traffic accidents in the city. Most of them are caused by speeding, distraction from cell phones, pedestrians violating traffic rules, and drunk driving. Last week alone, 8 traffic accidents were recorded for these reasons. The Emergency Situations Department and the Police Department urge drivers to strictly follow traffic rules, and parents to prevent children from operating scooters and mopeds without following safety rules. In addition, in recent days, thefts of bicycles, strollers, and household items have become more frequent in apartment buildings. On October 10, an unknown person illegally entered an apartment in the Nursat microdistrict and stole gold jewelry and cash. Therefore, residents are advised to install video surveillance cameras, not announce that no one is home, and increase vigilance. This was announced today by the official representative of the Shymkent city administration, deputy city akim, Sarsen Abayuly Kuranbek.

The institution's specialists conducted explanatory work on the safe use of gas equipment and distributed special memos to residents. In addition, 2,025 subscribers whose domestic gas appliances did not meet technical requirements were identified, and information was sent to the "QAZAQGAZ AIMAQ" SFC to take appropriate measures. For safety reasons, 230 homes have been temporarily disconnected from the gas system until gas supplies are fully restored, and work is ongoing on 1,795 homes. During the inspection of the gas technical service, 810 subscribers were identified with defects that posed a direct threat to human life, and their gas systems were temporarily disconnected until the defects were eliminated. In addition, administrative measures were taken against citizens who violated the rules for using gas consumption systems. In particular, in accordance with Part 1 of Article 306 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 73 individuals were fined a total of 1,030,184 tenge. And under Article 305, 11 individuals were brought to administrative responsibility, and a total of 304,730 tenge were collected as fines.
