An international dog show titled “Spring Meetings 2025” was held in Almaty, organized by the OO Elita DOSAAF Kennel Club and featuring a certified expert judge from Poland. In the city of Semey, a guilty verdict was issued against three members of a transnational group that illegally traded large amounts of cigarettes without proper identification marks.The investigation was conducted by the Financial Monitoring Agency's department in the Abay region.It was found that a group of 8 people, including 3 foreign citizens, illegally brought 9.3 million packs of counterfeit cigarettes from Kyrgyzstan using fake documents.The cigarettes were sold in the Almaty, Zhambyl, Pavlodar, and Turkestan regions. Some of the products were also intended to be smuggled into Russia.All of the counterfeit cigarettes were seized, and the unpaid excise taxes amounted to 2.6 billion tenge.To recover losses, authorities seized 9 vehicles and a private house.Additionally, during the investigation, the court approved the confiscation of criminally obtained property before trial: $157,000 in cash and a VIP car license plate “777” worth 840,000 tenge were taken.The court found Bekeshev D., Satybaldiev D., and Sultanov D. guilty of being part of a transnational organized group (Article 264 Part 2 of the Criminal Code) and illegal business activities (Article 214 Part 2, points 1 and 3). They were sentenced to 8 years in prison, and all confiscated property worth 166 million tenge was taken by the state.The other five members of the group are internationally wanted. Preliminary results of the socio-economic development of the country in January-April 2025 according to the estimated data of the National Bureau of Statistics.According to the results of the four months of this year, GDP growth was 6%. In the main sectors of the economy: transport (22.4%), trade (7%), the rate of development has increased. Growth was also registered in the fields of agriculture (3.9%) and communication (2.6%).Growth in the transport sector was ensured due to the increase in the volume of cargo transportation services by rail and pipeline, which accounted for 20.5% and 19.6% of the total volume of the industry, respectively. High dynamics were registered in Turkestan (21.8%), Zhambyl (11.2%) and Abay (14.9%) regions.In the construction sector, the index of real work volume was 16.2%. In addition, taking into account the construction period, it was ordered to ensure the necessary coordination in local areas to increase the pace of work and prevent the increase in the cost of projects. The indicator of wholesale trade increased by 7.4%, and the indicator of retail trade increased by 6.1%. A number of regions: Turkestan region - 60.4% due to enterprises selling fruits, vegetables, pharmaceutical goods; Akmola region - 44% thanks to enterprises selling grain, seeds and animal feed; Shymkent showed a high growth of 19.8% at the expense of enterprises that sell diesel fuel, pharmaceutical goods, ferrous and non-ferrous metal scrap and waste.In the industry, the production index reached 6.4%. Former students of military educational institutions can apply for re-admittance at an educational institution online. All you need to do is submit an application via the eGov.kz portal. The service is free and available to those who have completed at least one semester of study.Previously, the re-admittance process was complicated and required physical presence. Candidates had to apply to an educational institution and collect an extensive package of documents, including an identity card, a transcript, a description from the place of service, photographs, a copy of a military ID card and other papers.Now the process has been made easier: the application is submitted online and most of the documents required are automatically downloaded from state databases. It is important to note that the application can only be made within one year of the date of withdrawal.
