Brazil celebrated the spring holiday of Nauryz 29.03.2025
Brasilia, March 20, 2025 – The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Brazil together with the Club of Spouses of Heads of Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations in Brazil (GCCM) held a joint event dedicated to the celebration of the spring holiday Nauryz–2025.During the meeting, the participants were presented with a new program «Nauryznama», which combines various cultural and traditional events aimed at giving the Nauryz holiday a new meaning and spirit. During the presentation, it was noted that «Nauryznama» is designed to cover all areas of society – from charity and cultural events to national traditions and environmental campaigns.The holiday was accompanied by an art exhibition of Brazilian children and teenagers on the theme «Kazakhstan through the eyes of children», which was dedicated to the cultural diversity of Kazakhstan and the strengthening of Kazakh-Brazilian cooperation. Its peculiarity was that Brazilian children and teenagers reflected their perception of Kazakhstan on artistic canvases. In his speech, Director of the Art School Jose Roberto Santos Vieira noted that Brazilian children tried to reflect in their works the uniqueness of the Kazakh original culture, national dishes, clothes and nature, conveying through them the spirit of the times, history and culture of the nomadic Kazakh people.As part of the holiday, a master class was also organized for guests on decorating cookies with Kazakh ornaments, as well as a presentation of the first jewelry brand in Brazil, «Umaiya», which conveys Kazakh national flavor in its design using local metal and precious stones of Brazil.In keeping with the tradition of hospitality, guests of the holiday were presented with dishes of Kazakh national cuisine. Kazakh Cinema Days in Banská Bystrica: A Cultural Bridge of Friendship within the Celebration of Nauryz 29.03.2025
Banská Bystrica, March 21–22, 2025 – On March 21–22, 2025, the Kazakh Cinema Days took place in the city of Banská Bystrica, organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Slovakia with the support of the “Kazakhfilm” Studio and the city administration of Banská Bystrica.The event was part of the program dedicated to the celebration of Nauryz, a spring festival symbolizing renewal, unity, and peace.Over two days, the Slovak audience had the opportunity to watch renowned works of Kazakh cinema, including the films Tomyris, Kazakh Khanate: The Diamond Sword, and Shal. Among the guests of the film screenings were representatives of the city administration, cultural and academic circles, business communities, the general public, as well as the Kazakh diaspora and student youth.Speaking at the grand opening of the Cinema Days, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Slovakia, Zhanna Saginova, emphasized that “these films show Kazakhstan as a country where the past and present merge into a unified whole, forming a unique national identity... Despite differences in history and culture, there are universal values that unite the Kazakh and Slovak peoples. These include respect for the past, love for one’s homeland, a striving for peace and harmony, and faith in the strength of family and traditions. These principles form the foundation of both Kazakh and Slovak mentalities, making our nations so close and understandable to each other.”At the Museum of the Slovak National Uprising, where the screenings took place, reproductions of works by renowned sculptor and artist Reshat Kozhakhmetov were exhibited. These artworks reflected the diverse palette of contemporary Kazakh art and attracted significant public attention.The Ambassador met with the Mayor of Banská Bystrica, Ján Nosko, to discuss opportunities for bilateral cooperation, including the possibility of establishing interregional partnerships and twinning relations with a city in Kazakhstan.Zh. Saginova congratulated the mayor on Banská Bystrica’s upcoming 770th anniversary and the 80th anniversary of the city’s liberation from fascist occupation in 2025. The diplomat noted that soldiers of the Soviet Army, including Kazakh natives, fought heroically for the liberation of Czechoslovakia and made a significant contribution to supporting the Slovak National Uprising of 1944. It was emphasized that the Embassy of Kazakhstan is actively working on locating and identifying Kazakh soldiers buried in Slovakia and hopes for continued cooperation with the city administration on this matter.On the same day, a roundtable discussion was held at the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the participation of Slovak business representatives. Ambassador Zh. Saginova introduced the current economic situation in Kazakhstan, outlined promising directions for the country’s economic development, and presented investment opportunities for foreign investors.The leadership of the regional chamber expressed their readiness to support the development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, noting the great potential of the Kazakh market and the interest of Slovak businesses in expanding economic ties with Kazakhstan.During the B2G session, the Ambassador and business representatives discussed ways to enhance direct contacts between the business communities of both countries, including the organization of business forums and exchange visits.A traditional meeting between diplomats and young Kazakh students studying at local universities was held at the Honorary Consulate of Kazakhstan in Banská Bystrica. Development and investment in the port and transport-logistics infrastructure of Aktau and Kuryk discussed in Greece 29.03.2025
Athens, March 20, 2025 – A working meeting was recently held in Greece between the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Hellenic Republic, Timur Sultangozhin, and the General Director of “TEKAL S.A.”, Antonios Panas, together with other members of the company’s management team. “TEKAL S.A.” is a prominent Greek company specializing in the design, construction, and modernization of port and transport-logistics facilities.The company is currently executing several large-scale projects, including the reconstruction of the Astir Vouliagmeni tourist port at a cost of 50.8 million euros, the expansion of the western Pier III at the Port of Piraeus, the development of the pier at the Port of Artissa in Fthiotida, and the construction of a 500-meter platform at the Port of Limassol. Its expertise covers both new construction and the modernization of port infrastructure, thereby enhancing transport and logistics capabilities.During the discussions, Ambassador Sultangozhin outlined Kazakhstan’s plans for developing its transport and logistics infrastructure—particularly with regard to expanding the capacity and capabilities of the Aktau and Kuryk ports—and highlighted potential areas of collaboration to enhance Kazakhstan’s transit potential. Yerevan, 20 March 2025 – Ambassador Bolat Imanbayev met with the students – listeners of the Center for Kazakh Language, History and Culture named after Abai at Yerevan State University. On March 20, 2025, training took place in Almaty within the framework of the Ethics Commissioner's School, organized by the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Anti-Corruption Service) in Almaty in partnership with the Parasatty Urpaq Usin Public Foundation and the Miliston Transformations Foundation. The event brought together representatives of government organizations and was aimed at increasing knowledge about the principles of ethics, as well as developing skills in implementing effective ethical standards in government structures. The School's program was aimed at deepening knowledge in the field of ethics, clarifying key principles of professional behavior and introducing effective methods of compliance with ethical standards in the organization. The course participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with modern approaches to the creation and maintenance of ethical systems, including the most important principles of professional ethics, conflict resolution and the introduction of tools for monitoring compliance with ethical standards. The participants who completed the training had the opportunity to study international best practices, discuss current issues of compliance with ethical standards in public service, as well as get acquainted with tools for effective monitoring of compliance with standards of conduct and transparency in work. "The implementation of ethical standards in the activities of government organizations plays a key role in the formation of an open, transparent and responsible civil service. This training will improve the skills of specialists and strengthen the trust of citizens in government institutions," said Kanat Salimbayev, Head of the Prevention Department of the Anti—Corruption Service in Almaty. Хива, 20 марта 2025 года – Заместитель Премьер-министра – Министр иностранных дел Республики Казахстан Мурат Нуртлеу совершил рабочий визит в город Хива, в рамках которого состоялось 1-ое заседание Совета министров иностранных дел Казахстана и Узбекистана с участием заинтересованных государственных органов двух стран.В ходе мероприятия обсуждён широкий круг вопросов многогранного казахско-узбекского сотрудничества, в том числе состояние и перспективы дальнейшего укрепления политического, торгово-экономического, инвестиционного, транзитно-транспортного, водно-энергетического и культурно-гуманитарного взаимодействия. Выражена взаимная приверженность углублению стратегического партнёрства и союзничества, основанных на дружбе, братстве и добрососедстве.Министр иностранных дел РК подчеркнул, что благодаря политической воле и мудрости глав государств, казахско-узбекские отношения развиваются по восходящей. Танец души и любви» и выставка выдающегося художника-живописца У.Тансыкбаева.Стороны договорились содействовать расширению взаимодействия в сфере высшего образования, отметив успешную деятельность филиалов Южно-Казахстанского университета имени М.Аузова в г.Чирчике и Ташкентского института инженеров ирригации и механизации сельского хозяйства в г.Алматы.Рассмотрены вопросы дальнейшего наращивания сотрудничества в сфере туризма, в том числе реализация совместных проектов, направленных на популяризацию культурного наследия двух государств.В ходе первого заседания Совета министров иностранных дел РК и РУ были заслушаны доклады государственных органов обеих стран по расширению сотрудничеств в сферах торговли и промышленной кооперации, транспорта и логистики, водных отношений и культуры.Министры также «сверили часы» по актуальным вопросам региональной и международной повестки дня. Kazakhstan's first international-level community center opened in Kossy 29.03.2025
The first multifunctional community center in Kazakhstan, a large-scale public cultural and sports complex built according to international standards, has opened in the city of Kosshy, Akmola region.The project was implemented by the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation and has become a significant contribution to the development of urban infrastructure. The total area of the center is 8,5 thousand square meters, at the same time it can accommodate up to 1000 people. The $20 million project was donated to the city's balance sheet.The head of the region expressed gratitude to the Foundation and stressed the importance of the new cultural and leisure center for the development of the city of Kossy."Despite the fact that only four years have passed since the city status was awarded, active construction and modernization of social facilities continues in Kossy. Today we witnessed the opening of the country's first multifunctional complex conforming to international standards, implemented on behalf of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev by the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation.All modern conditions have been created here for the population, both for children and adults," said Akim of Akmola region Marat Akhmetzhanov.The center combines sports, educational and leisure spaces. There is a cinema hall with 233 seats, a lecture hall for 300 people, exhibition and conference rooms, studios, a coworking space and a library with a reading room. The territory is equipped with sports grounds, workout areas and a walking alley. There is a wide range of clubs for children, from robotics and chess to choreography and applied crafts. For adults, it is a convenient space for work, socializing and leisure. Admission is free, and classes and sections are available at affordable prices."For many years, we have been helping the state to create a comfortable and modern infrastructure accessible to every citizen of Kazakhstan. The prosecutor of Aktobe region discussed the systemic problems of business 29.03.2025
Regional Prosecutor Marat Abishev met with the chairmen of the sectoral councils of the Atameken Regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs to discuss systemic problems of the business community. "Today, business protection and investment project support are the priorities of the prosecutor's office. These tasks have been set by the President of the country and the Prosecutor General, and we are obliged to carry them out effectively.  Feedback from the business community is needed, indicating the specific, systemic problems faced by entrepreneurs, be it administrative barriers, illegal inspections, difficulties with permits or other obstacles," Marat Abishev emphasized.During the meeting, the chairmen of the industry councils voiced the existing problematic issues, including those related to a possible increase in the electricity tariff, support for domestic producers, transparency of public procurement, and others. Identification of Profiling and Screening Methods 29.03.2025
        On March 18-19, 2025, as part of the cooperation between the Training Methodical Center of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan (TMC SRC MF RK) and the Customs Institute of the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan (CI CC MEF RU), online lectures were held on the relevant topics of "Identification of Profiling" and "Screening Methods."       The seminar was attended by students of the Customs Institute of the Republic of Uzbekistan and employees of the state revenue territorial authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.      The purpose of the event was to present the fundamental principles and methods of identification and profiling in the context of inspection procedures, as well as to explore modern approaches to detecting potential threats.      The seminar featured the following lecturers:      – Anuar Kasymbekov – Chief Specialist of the TMC SRC MF RK;     – Khurshida Faizullaeva – Psychologist-Expert of the Faculty of Retraining and Professional Development at CI CC MEF RU.      The event took place in a live dialogue format, allowing participants to ask experts questions and share their experiences. Attendees gained valuable knowledge that will help them respond effectively to non-standard situations, prevent risks, and enhance security. Astana, March 18, 2025 – First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Akan Rakhmetullin, in his capacity as Chairman of the Second session of the Preparatory Committee for the Review Conference of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), participated in an expert talk for Arms Control Today (published by the American think tank Arms Control Association).The Chairmen of the First (Finland) and Third (Ghana) sessions of the NPT Preparatory Committee also participated in the discussion. A meeting of the operational headquarters on the flood situation was held in Kostanay region 29.03.2025
Work continues in Kostanay region on the safe passage of the flood period. Today, a regular meeting of the operational headquarters was held under the chairmanship of Akim of the region Kumar Aksakalov, at which topical issues were considered and necessary decisions were made.At the moment, large-scale events are underway in the region: water is pumped out around the clock, 20 thousand cubic meters have been pumped out in the last 24 hours alone. 12,000 sandbags have been laid to protect settlements, 8.7 km of ditches and canals have been cleared, and shore strengthening and excavation work continues.Four overflows and two washouts were recorded on the highways of the region. All work on the restoration of transport links is being carried out promptly. Special attention is paid to areas with high water levels, such as the Kundyzdy River in the village of Novoselovka, where the situation is constantly monitored. In case of deterioration, evacuation measures are planned.The Governor of the region noted that it is necessary to ensure the smooth operation of all services and pay special attention to the following issues:• Monitoring the level of rivers and meltwater in settlements;• Prompt restoration of transport links in case of overflows and washouts of roads;• Work on the removal of livestock to safe places and identification of farm animals;• Cleaning of drainage channels, courtyards, and access pipes from snow and debris;• Provision of fuel, food, medicines and other basic necessities.Additionally, instructions were given to the Department of Emergency Situations to respond promptly to cases of flooding, continue pumping water and conduct explanatory work with the public. The Police Department has been instructed to organize round-the-clock duty on flooded sections of roads and provide comprehensive assistance to residents.The Mayor stressed that all measures are being taken in a timely manner, the situation is under control, and the main task is to minimize the consequences of flooding and ensure the safety of people. Almaty residents are expected at the clean-up day "Almaty Clean&Green" with the participation of celebrities and athletes 29.03.2025
On March 23, 2025, in Almaty, within the framework of the Taza Kazakhstan program and the Almaty is Our Common Home campaign, a large–scale citywide campaign to clean up the city, Almaty Clean&Green, will be held. This event is timed to coincide with the Day of Purity of Tazaru kuni, which will be celebrated as part of the celebration of Nauryznam.The action will take place throughout the city and will cover public spaces, recreational areas, parks, squares and courtyards. One of the key events will be the mass planting of trees, during which citizens will be able to participate in the landscaping of the city.The Almaty Akimat will provide all necessary support to the participants of the action by providing tree seedlings, as well as equipment for harvesting and planting, including gloves, bags, shovels and rakes.
