During a briefing at the CCS in Almaty, Mayor Yerbolat Dosayev answered a question from journalists about the timing of the transfer of schools to single-shift education, as well as measures taken to reduce the shortage of student places."This year we started the process of transferring 43 schools to single–shift education - it's my dream to have children study in one shift. And we see a positive trend in this. In the long term, it is planned to transfer at least 40% of schools to single-shift education by the end of 2027, which will amount to about 95 schools. This will make it possible to organize extracurricular activities, as the transition to single-shift education will help relieve the burden on children that arises in a two-shift regime," said Yerbolat Dosayev.The head of the megacity noted that at the beginning of the school year, city schools face a shortage of student places, which is about 30 thousand. The construction of Comfortable schools, initiated by the Head of State, will solve this problem."As part of the Comfortable School project, we will receive 22,000 student places. Akim of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev spoke at an on-site briefing in the CCS about the modernization of the heat and electricity supply infrastructure.In 2024, 20 km of heat supply networks, more than 220 km of electricity supply networks were modernized in Almaty and 85 boiler houses were reconstructed, which significantly increased heating efficiency.Next year, more ambitious tasks are planned - the modernization of 40 km of heat supply networks and 240 km of electricity supply networks, as well as the reconstruction of 21 boiler houses.The measures taken will significantly reduce the deterioration of the infrastructure.By the end of 2024-2025, the wear of heat supply networks will decrease by 3.8%, amounting to 54.1%, and electricity supply networks — by 1.7%, reaching 63.3%.The Mayor noted that the modernization of engineering infrastructure is a priority area of the akimat's work. As part of this project, transportation of public school students has been organized. In 2024, the number of school buses was increased to 200 units, which made it possible to reach 15.3 thousand schoolchildren. Almaty strengthens protection against natural risks: earthquake safety and work on mountain slopes 24.12.2024

A seismic audit was conducted of 10,916 objects (1,641 multi–apartment buildings, 9,275 civilian objects). Kazakhstan plans to launch a plant for processing olives and producing olive oil 24.12.2024
In 2023, Kazakhstani companies QVM Technology LLP, Ordabasy Group and Yervira, together with the Georgian Olive Georgia company, signed an agreement on experimental planting of olive tree seedlings in the Zhetysu, Turkestan and Mangistau regions.The first 6080 seedlings were planted. Previously, 99.7% of seedlings demonstrated a good survival rate.
