Kazakhstan has once again made a name for itself on the international arena in the field of conformity assessment and accreditation. Gulzhan Amanzholova, a representative of the National Accreditation Center of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NCA), took part in the international mission of Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC), which took place in mid-August in the United States.As part of a team of experts from the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, the United States and Kazakhstan, Amanzholova participated in the initial assessment of one of the American accreditation bodies. The five-day mission to Pennsylvania was an important step not only for the host party, but also for the Kazakhstani expert, who continues to strengthen the country's professional authority at the global level."It was extremely intensive, but very productive work. The Trade and Economic Mission of Kazakhstan (TEM) was held in Guangzhou, bringing together representatives of more than 20 Kazakhstani companies and leading business circles of Guangdong Province. The forum was opened by the Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Shakkaliyev. He emphasized that Kazakhstan and China are strategic allies, and the trade turnover between the countries for the first half of 2025 amounted to almost $15 billion, which is 5.9% more than the same period last year.Separately, the minister noted the potential of Guangdong Province, the largest economy in China with a GDP of $1.9 trillion, where trade with Kazakhstan grew by 37.3% last year.A number of memorandums were signed within the TEM, including a cooperation agreement between the single operator for export development "QazTrade" and the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce of Importers & Exporters. Based on this agreement, as well as following the negotiations, relations were established with the leading trade associations of the province, which made it possible to reach specific agreements on the supply of rapeseed oil, feed meal and barley for a total of $45 million. In addition, the Chinese side showed significant interest in such goods as crackers, natural juices and dry camel milk, which opens up additional prospects for expanding the export of Kazakh products to China.Along with trade contracts, infrastructure issues were also discussed. Kazakhstan remains a key transit hub on the China-Europe route. Today, over 80% of cargo passes through its territory. Within the framework of the One Belt, One Road initiative and the Trans-Caspian Corridor, the country intends to increase the volume of transportation along the Middle Corridor to 10 million tons per year by 2030.The forum participants paid significant attention to investment cooperation. Over the years of independence, Kazakhstan has attracted $26.4 billion in Chinese investment. Today, 224 industrial projects worth over $66 billion are in progress, 67 of which have already been successfully completed.  On August 20 this year, a meeting was held in Beijing between the Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Shakkaliyev and the Minister of Commerce of the People's Republic of China Wang Wentao.The talks were held in the spirit of friendly and meaningful dialogue and were aimed at implementing the agreements reached by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping at the Second Central Asia-China Summit. The ministers confirmed the high level of comprehensive strategic cooperation based on the special relations of the leaders of the states.It is the trust and personal contacts of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Xi Jinping that serve as the driving force for further strengthening of the "eternal comprehensive strategic partnership" and give new impetus to deepening trade and economic ties.Wang Wentao emphasized that the dynamics of trade indicate a steady growth: in 2024, trade turnover reached 43.8 billion US dollars, which is 9.2% higher than the previous year, and for the first half of 2025 it amounted to 21.8 billion dollars. Thanks to this agreement, e-commerce with China has reached a new level, the desire of both parties to expand mutually beneficial partnership has been consolidated and favorable conditions have been created in the field of logistics, investment and exchange of experience in e-commerce.The prospects for attracting Chinese investment in the real sector of the economy of Kazakhstan were also discussed. The Kazakh side proposed to consider the issue of reducing import duties to China on Kazakh goods, and also emphasized the advisability of creating projects for deep processing of raw materials in the territory of Kazakhstan with the participation of Chinese capital.Particular emphasis was placed on the regionalization of cooperation, which was supported by the Chinese side. On August 20, 2025, the Ethics Commissioner of the Ministry, together with the Legal Department, held a seminar on the topic of "Behavior in official relations and outside working hours, activities incompatible with the performance of state functions, anti-corruption prevention."  The event discussed key issues of strengthening official ethics, creating a trusting atmosphere in the team, as well as the importance of the personal example of managers. Particular attention was paid to issues of compliance with labor discipline: strict adherence to the working hours regime, inadmissibility of being late and leaving before the end of the working day, as well as the fact that work outside working hours is possible only with the official permission of the management. In addition, the participants were reminded of the strict ban on smoking in government buildings and non-designated places, which is associated not only with health protection, but also with the image of the civil service.
