Astana, February 18, 2025 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the signing of an agreement for the implementation of an investment project in the production and deep processing of non-ferrous metals in Kazakhstan. The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov, Vice Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Saparbekov, and General Director of East Hope Group Changjun Meng.The project involves the establishment of new production facilities in two regions of the country, which will enable the implementation of advanced technologies in the metallurgy industry and expand the export of finished products to international markets, including the European Union, Central Asia, and China. Kostanay region implements the strategic instructions of the Head of State, developing in three key economic areas: mechanical engineering, ferrous metallurgy and processing of agricultural products. One of the priorities of the region remains the development of the machine-building industry, including the automotive industry and the production of automotive components.Mechanical engineering: expansion of productionTo date, there are four large machine-building enterprises in Kostanay region that produce passenger cars, trucks and agricultural machinery. In 2025, more than 3 billion tenge was allocated for these purposes. As a result, all schools in the region will be equipped with licensed security, turnstiles and CCTV cameras.Also, over the past two years, in order to improve the comfort and safety of students, 35 boiler houses have been moved outside of school buildings.Training of in-demand specialists2025 has been declared the Year of Working Professions in Kazakhstan, which makes vocational education issues especially relevant.
