Zhansugurov streets, as well as on Egemen Kazakhstan and Imanov streets. As you know, since the beginning of this academic year, we have built and put into operation 24 educational institutions. This is a record for the capital. These schools have allowed us to open about 66 thousand places for students in two shifts. Of the 24 educational institutions, 16 are comfortable schools. As part of the national project "Comfortable School", 24 schools will be built in a new format on the instructions of the Head of State. These comfortable schools will allow us to open about 90 thousand places for students in two shifts. We plan to open another 15 schools in the new academic year. "We also raise private funds for the construction of educational institutions. We also train personnel by allocating grants for the teaching profession every year. Currently, about 2,200 people are studying at universities under the city administration's grant," Zhenis Kasymbek wrote.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/astana/press/news/details/938976

The fight against childhood cancer: what measures are being taken in this area in the capital 21.02.2025
Every year, about 600 children in Kazakhstan are diagnosed with cancer, which is a common oncological disease in the country. How is modern medicine fighting the disease and what innovations are there in the pharmaceutical industry? Tatyana Sablina, a city freelance pediatric oncohematologist, a doctor of the highest category, answered these and other questions at a briefing held at the Astana City Communications Service, the official website of the capital's akimat reports. The most common oncological diseases among children include: Acute leukemias - diseases of the blood-forming system; Central nervous system tumors; Soft tissue tumors; Bone and retroperitoneal space tumors; Kidney tumors. In Kazakhstan, children's oncological diseases are treated by two large republican multidisciplinary medical centers. One of them is the National Mother and Child Scientific Center in Astana.Doctors use modern protocols in accordance with international standards in the treatment of cancer. In particular, targeted therapy, which directly affects malignant cells and minimizes damage to healthy tissues, is widely used. Children who have not responded to standard chemotherapy or whose disease has relapsed are undergoing bone marrow transplantation from related and unrelated donors.“Early detection of the disease is the key factor in successful treatment. For this purpose, a memo for parents has been developed to identify specific symptoms in advance. Early diagnosis significantly increases the effectiveness of treatment. One of the important steps in the prevention of cancer is vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV). This vaccine reduces the risk of developing cervical, rectal and other oncological diseases. In Kazakhstan, this vaccine is included in the National Vaccination Calendar for girls aged 11-13.The state is systematically working to improve methods of detecting and treating cancer in children. Parents and society should understand the importance of early detection of the disease and undergo timely medical examinations. "Children's health is our most important value," says Tatyana Sablina.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/astana/press/news/details/938784
