Doctors of the Research Institute of Cardiology and Internal Diseases of the Ministry of Health have applied a unique technique in the treatment of a complex case.As a result of a complex operation, a 64-year-old patient was given the opportunity to live a new, healthy life. Progressive heart failure (atrial fibrillation of only 27%) and severe damage to the main vessel of the heart - the trunk of the left coronary artery required serious intervention.The doctors used a unique technique. From that moment on, the device took over the pumping of blood and gas exchange in the lungs. The patient's blood entered the oxygenator, was saturated with oxygen and returned back to the body. All this time, the process of vital support of the body was controlled by anesthesiologists and intensive care specialists.At the next stage, interventional cardiologists installed a stent in the trunk of the left coronary artery and its branches, which allowed it to maintain its walls and restore blood flow to the heart.Immediately after the end of the operation, the patient was disconnected from ECMO and artificial lung ventilation on the operating table.
