A case of "gray-market" certification of frozen meat-based semi-finished products has been uncovered in Uralsk 10.08.2026
As a result of interaction between the Department of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology for the West Kazakhstan Region and the sanitary and epidemiological control authorities, a fact of so-called «grey» certification of food products was revealed. The basis for carrying out the relevant work was the materials received following the results of a control purchase of frozen meat-containing semi-finished products. The products were accompanied by a declaration of conformity of the EAEU, issued by a certification body of the Republic of Belarus.During the study of the conformity assessment materials, it was established that the declaration was adopted on the basis of a test report allegedly issued by an accredited testing laboratory in the city of Almaty. To verify the authenticity of the document, the Department sent an official request to the specified laboratory. According to the received response, the tests of this product were not conducted by the laboratory, and the corresponding test report was not drawn up or issued. Thus, the declaration of conformity was registered on the basis of unreliable evidentiary material, which did not actually confirm the testing of the products and their compliance with the mandatory requirements of the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union.Based on the results of the review of the materials, a decision was made to cancel the validity of the declaration of conformity on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The information was sent to the authorized body and state bodies exercising control and supervision in the field of technical regulation. For violation of the rules for conducting conformity confirmation and assessment procedures, the product manufacturer was brought to administrative responsibility. This case shows that the formal presence of a declaration in the register does not always mean the actual completion of the tests provided for by law. Verification of the authenticity of test reports and the traceability of evidentiary materials is one of the key tools for countering «grey» certification and protecting the market from products with unconfirmed safety. The Department will continue interdepartmental work to identify unreliable conformity assessment documents and suppress the practice of registering declarations without actually conducting the necessary tests.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/mti/press/news/details/1271202?lang=ru
Employees of the Temir-baba customs post stopped major attempts to illegally move goods 10.08.2026
Employees of the Temir-baba customs post of the Department of State Revenue for the Mangystau region identified and stopped two attempts to illegally move significant shipments of goods across the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union. In the first case, a Toyota car driven by a citizen of Turkmenistan, K.A., arrived at the checkpoint. During a joint customs inspection with the border guard service, undeclared goods were found in the vehicle interior — 604 bottles of 0.5 liter Bekire vodka. The actions of the violator are qualified under article 545 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses. The Karakiyansky district court found K.A. guilty and imposed an administrative fine in the amount of 64875 tenge with confiscation of the entire batch of alcoholic beverages. In the second case, the post staff stopped an attempt at an even larger violation. A citizen of Turkmenistan, P.G., driving a Volvo truck, tried to smuggle across the border 6264 bottles of carbonated soft drinks with a volume of 0.5 liters (brands Bold and Gosa Cynar). The goods were carefully hidden in specially equipped caches located outside the cargo hold. During the passage of the inspection complex, the system recorded suspicions, which became the basis for an in-depth inspection. As a result of the joint actions of customs officers and border guards, the contraband cargo was discovered and seized.P.G. fully admitted his guilt. According to Article 549 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Karakiyansky District Court imposed on him an administrative fine in the amount of 10,8125 tenge with confiscation of the entire batch of drinks and their subsequent destruction. These cases clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of the customs control system at the southern border of the region. The use of modern technical means, including inspection and inspection systems, combined with the professionalism of the staff, allows timely detection of attempts to conceal goods and protect the economic interests of the state. The Department of State Revenue for the Mangystau region reminds that the movement of goods across the customs border of the EAEU must be carried out in strict accordance with the law. Any attempts to conceal or undeclare the movement of goods entail administrative and criminal liability, including confiscation of infringing items and significant penalties. The Department will continue its systematic work to strengthen customs control and prevent border violations. The Temir-baba customs post is the only automobile checkpoint on the Kazakh-Turkmen state border. The post carries out customs clearance of goods and vehicles transported across the external border of the EAEU.  (Unofficial translation)Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/kgd-mangistau/press/news/details/1271203?lang=ru
Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/almobl/press/news/details/1271177?lang=ru
